( Contemplating about stuff in the living room )

Two weeks had already passed after that failed assassination attempt against my husband. To say that I was not afraid of losing him at that time is one hell of a lie. I remember being hysterical and unconsolable as I watch the paramedics perform advanced field procedures on his then lifeless body as they rush to get him to the nearest hospital. A bit of luck was still on our side that day, because miraculously the doctors were able to stabilize his condition.

The handgun's bullet passed through his right chest, aside from suffering from a collapsed lung, no other internal injuries were detected which made me feel grateful. After a week of hospital treatments, he was given the okay signal for discharge. I was with him every step of the way. Others might think, I am crazy for praying that he lives through the ordeal.

It probably would be easier for me if he died on the spot. I would have been a young widow who will inherit all of his wealth and fortune. I would be set free from his grip. This could have been clearly a major win-win situation for me but sometimes unexpected things happen in life.

That day... my husband protected me from the spray of gunfires. He shielded me from harm and took a bullet for me without any hesitation. I want to ask him why... but I just couldn't find the right moment. He's been busy with finding out who is the true mastermind behind the heinous act.
