Our Foolish Heart (Reverse Comfort) (F4M) (Realization and acceptance)

(Starting background SFX: muffled late-night club music) (The female is drinking whiskey but she’s not drunk)

Female: (drink a shot of whiskey, put down the shot glass to the wooden table then sigh heavily) “What the fuck/ heck am I doing?” (sighing again and putting her head down in frustration, then looking at front again) “Bartender, another one please” (raising the shot glass)

Look around the club and look at the male who’s drinking beside you.

Female thought dialogue: “He’s not intoxicated yet, I’m surprise he can handle the poison his drinking, his like drinking from a dispenser, he just got his whiskey and he’s asking for more?”

(She chuckled at the sight of the boy that was drinking)

Female: “Hey, how are you?” (The male answer he’s doing fine, and ask you how were you doing)

Female: (Brief pause) I’m good, I see you drinking your sorrows away and you’re alone, I’m impressed that you can handle the drinks and the solitude, may I join you?” (The male complies as he accepts your invitation)

Female: “Thank you” (Brief pause as the male compliments you on how you are able to see through his situation) “I have sharp eyes? Thank you, I mean we’re the only ones here so it’s not that hard”

(Whiskey begins to refill your shot glass) So… you’re alone may I ask why? (The male look at you) (you doubted at first but you asked anyway) “If it’s not too personal to asked”

Female: (Brief pause) “Just trying to escape life? Huh, me too” (She chuckled and begins to smile)

“Escaping life, what does that mean? You got dumped?” (She said with a hint of laughter) (She drinks her whiskey and put down the shot glass)

(The male looked at you, holding his shot glass then asked “what’s your version of escaping your life?”)

Female: (The female looked down at her shot glass and sigh in defeat) “Yeah, I got dumped too and I made the same mistake again” (shaking her head and quietly chuckled) (The male looked at you, you looked at each other)

Female: “What?’ (The male asked “again?”) (female chuckled) “Yeah. What Do You Believe in that saying?; “You’re my first and Last” That’s bullshit” (Jokingly reply while hiding the pain at the process) (He fixes his posture replying that too happened to him)

Female: (sigh) “You want to talk about it?” carefully asked the listener. The listener didn’t even hesitate to say no.

Female: “C’mon tell me, I’ll share my broken dreams if you do” (Chuckled) “We’re not grade schoolers, we can tell what’s bugging our minds, we’re adults now, and beside I’m not that kind person that wanders around everywhere telling anyone about personal shit”

(The male chuckled he doesn’t even know you)

Female: I’m (boyish name/just name), nice to meet you, what’s your name? (Male tells his name) Huh, that’s very fitting (Female gently taps the wooden table getting ready to talk about the past) “Now I know what you’re thinking, (Name) is not a girl’s name, I get that a lot from strangers” female let out a small laugh.

SFX: Bartender refills the female’s shot glass

Female thoughts: “Well something’s odd, we’re not drinking and ordering either, I wasn’t complaining about it but I need a break from it, what other way to get away from the whiskey than classic conversation” (Female drink the shot in one go then put down the shot glass) “time to start a conversation if I want this to last”

Female: “So…what happened between you and her?”

Female thoughts POV: “He knew he’ll get hurt eventually, but he still did it, he still learned to

Love” it was one of those things we yearn, a sense of company, A sense of belongingness. We

Know. We will get hurt, but we tried to forget it, not mind it, because, it hurts to the core, we don’t

love at the past nor the future, we love at the present, we tend to forget that, but the pain catches

ups, and follows later, he didn’t know why, why are we realizing this now?”

Female: “We never did stop learning in the first place, learning to love again that is” (Male asked

about the females break up story) “Me? Well…Between me and my ex, looking back then, I was

the only one who made a mistake or to be real, the victim of a relationship, it’s pretty obvious, we

didn’t break even, the one who’s been hurt the most is the one who loves the greatest”

Female: Him and I lasted for 3 years, I didn’t expect to end in a day” (The male drinks his whiskey.

It got your attention) “You’re awfully drinking too many?” (The male pauses) “You’re not a light

weight, are you?” (Female chuckle. “No” The male replied) “So are you here often or just for

tonight?” You say. No, just for tonight. How about you?” (The male replied “Just for tonight too”

female doubted the male, and asked jokingly “What does that mean? You’re a player?” (Female

leaned forward to the male, causing the male’s seat to move and made a noise, causing the male

to almost crash to the floor, but he retains his balance and now embarrass)

(The male responded quickly ““What? N-No, no I’m not”)

(Female giggled then laugh, this made the male listener laugh,)

Female: “I’m sorry, but your reaction was priceless, but don’t take it personally” said with a

bit of laughter left (He smiles at you, and turn to the table waiting for a refill, then he frowns,

female notices this and begin to regret the assumption earlier) ““Hey, I said I was sorry” she said

“Don’t be mad”

(Female said with a apologetic tone, then not long the bartender calls the last round

for beers and whiskey before closing. This made the female and male sad) “Already?”

you asked.

Female Thought POV: “Guess it's for the best, I think we’re immune to the effect of alcohol, its

not making us drunk, it's making us more depressed than needed” (Female looked at her shot

glass, ices were still present at the glass, female tried to shake it slowly, looking at the glass for

leftover whiskey liquid)

(The club music is getting louder, the female notices this and had an idea)

Female: “We haven’t talked about ourselves yet” (The male replied “Didn’t we introduce

ourselves earlier?”) “Not our broken dreams, dummy, who we are” (The female notices that the

music keeps getting louder)

Female: (Stood up from the bar stool) “It’s loud in here, you want to take a walk outside?”

(Skips to outside, SFX background: two persons walking and quite city noises)

Female: “Where you asked?” female grew a smile, and happily saying “To my special place”

(SFX cold wind) “It's cold innit”

Female: “While I’m freezing cold out here, let’s play a game?” (The male complies) “Good, it

called a wall city, it’s a city in a city” (Male asked If its in our country) “Yes its in our country, of

course” (Male replied “Intramuros”) “Yes, it is in fact, Intramuros” (The female snaps her finger

but fail miserably) (The male laughs) “Hey don’t laugh, I was going for a snap, I wanted to be

clever, okay” Female chuckled “You’re a bully, you know?”

(SFX: The city noises become silent slowly as you and the male approach the walled city, the

sound is replaced with a festive noises and people having fun)

Female: “C’mon let’s go!” Said happily as she grabbed the male’s hand and went inside the city.

(Sometime later. The SFX Background festive and people having fun slowly disappear, and

replace with cricket noises)

Female: “That was fun, right? Let’s sit by the bench at the cathedral, yeah?”

(SFX: Walking couple)

Female: “How about there?” (The SFX: Walking couple stops)

Female: (Sigh Happily) …. “That was fun, I never knew that side of yours. You don’t have to thank me for that, I should be the one though, think of it as an appreciation from earlier, never had someone who could lecture me, in my middle age ass years” (The male thanks you anyways) “Really? I never met a person like you” (Female laughs, but then realized something)

Female: (Sighing tiredly) “I wish everyday would be like this…. “I wish time would go back, back to the days, life was so much better”

Female: (The male agreed with the female) "Back then, we'll wake up and we don't have any problems worrying us. No responsibilities and no doubts, but as we get older we…. we look back, wishing the days of our youth will return us, or at least the feelings. Those days were something else, nothing prepared us for the future, I wish we could go back in time…. But it doesn't work that way.... We just have to move on with the world" (The male was glad that the female realized it) "Yeah, you'll figure it out sooner or later"

(Sfx: Cold wind passes by then the male gives his jacket to the female) "What? (Male helped the female to wear the jacket) “Oh…. Thank you, your jacket is comfy...I like it"

(The male looked up to the sky, the moon and the stars, looking deep into it, the female notices this, female getting worried)

Female: "Do you like the sky that much? …You looked at the sky to remember someone? .... Where are they now? ...You don’t know?" (The male returned to being quiet)"Hey...You okay?" Asked the female worriedly. "You're just baffled? You looked like you're reliving the days”

Female: "You know; you should stay here... with me. (The male looked at the female. the female gets closer to the male) "You might find something valuable” (The male asked “What” The female sigh) “Let’s walk for a bit, yeah?” (Pause then SFX: couple walking) “What’s bothering you?......What I talked about earlier, makes sense? What are you saying?”

Female: (SFX couple walking stops) “Value what’s in front of you?... I know that but… you know what I’m talking about? …. I trust you but…. We were there. We are human, we always seek something, it’s not selfishness, what’s bad if we want to seek something just for ourselves? …Yes that’s true, and you seem wise.

Female: “Look, we know what happened, we learn to love, we’ve been hurt, and we move on…. But aren’t you afraid of what might happen again? To learn to love again and be broken again” (Said the female in a scared/nervous voice) “Don’t you have any doubts that the person you will meet in the future might be the same person that broke your heart?”

Female: You know what I’m talking about? Then you would know that the pain from the past can never be forgotten! .... Don’t let the past be the boundary of your future? (Female begins to cry and shake) “But how?! … I keep holding on… but every time I do, it keeps getting harder and harder” (The male hugged the female suddenly) “What?” (Female notices this and cry on the male’s chest. “How? 3x” Asked the female. “You’ll be here for me?” (Sniffs)…. (Sniff) We’ll face the future together? …. You know me enough to give me your trust” (Sniff)

(Female let’s go slowly from the male’s arms then punch (punch Sfx) him on the shoulder)

Female: (Sniffs then giggle) “That’s for making me sad…. But thank you” (Female stays silent)

Female: “What’s wrong? I’m just gathering the courage to do something?” (Giggle)

Female: “What is it you asked?” (Female kiss the male) “That’s for making me fall for you”

“You want to do it again? Okay (Giggle) “I love you, okay? Don’t let me go, ever”
