Everyone else is totally knocked out. I wonder what they’re dreaming about.

[Chuckles]

With the way Riley’s drooling, she’s probably dreaming about her crush or something.

[Brief pause]

Hey, you wanna play a game? Like truth or dare?

[Pause]

Come on! It’ll be fun!

[Pause]

Don’t worry, we’ll keep it quiet so we don’t wake anyone. I just need something to do until we finally fall asleep. And how about this: we’ll make it a rule that we lose if we wake someone up. Sound fair?

[Pause]

Cool. I’ll go first, then. And… [Pauses to think] … I pick dare.

[Pause]

You want me to pinch Mia's arm? How am I supposed to do that without waking her?

[Pause]

[Pause as she pinches Mia]

Come on. Humor me for a minute. [Speaks in an extremely slow and soothing tone] See how pretty your necklace looks in the dark? How the little bit of moonlight coming through the window makes it shine like that? You could almost swear that the gem in the middle is glowing. It’s such a calming glow, too. It makes your body want to relax, makes your muscles want to go limp, and makes your mind want to slow down.

[Pause]

[Chuckles] You’re still skeptical? That’s okay. But no matter how skeptical you may be, you have to admit it’s hard to take your eyes off of it. In fact, it’s near impossible.

[Cocky] Go ahead. I *dare* you to look away.

[Pause]

Having trouble there? Maybe if I snap my fingers, you’ll be able to look away.

[Snaps fingers]

[Facetiously] Oops. It just made you sleepier. My mistake.

[Dominant tone] I think you want to get closer, don’t you? You want to get a closer look at your swinging pendant?

[Pause]

Then crawl over to me.

[Pause]

Mmm. Perfect. So sleepy. So transfixed. [Whispering into listener’s ear] So close that I can whisper right in your ear as you continue to stare at the pendant. Not thinking of anything else, just letting my words into your brain, replacing your thoughts one by one until you have no thoughts of your own left. All you can think about is the sound of my voice… And you want to do exactly what my voice tells you to, right?

[Pause]

Good girl. Even sleepier. Even deeper under my control. And when I snap my fingers, you’ll drop into a deep, hypnotic sleep. You’ll do anything I say, and you won’t be able to resist my commands.

[Pause]

[Whispering normally, not in her hypnotizing tone, but in a much cockier and dominant one] What were you saying earlier about hypnosis being fake? I think I’ve earned the right to say “I told you so.”

Well, now I don’t really know what to do with you. The responsible thing would be to leave you asleep so you can wake up fully rested in the morning, but… to be honest, I don’t often get to have complete control over someone. [Giggles] I feel so powerful right now.

[Trying to think of a silly command] I think… I want you to… stick out your tongue.

[Giggles, gets more excited] Okay, now you think you’re a chicken!

[Laughing] Shhhh! Shhhhh! No clucking! Don’t wake anyone! Just flap your wings and stuff.

[Pause]

Okay, okay, now freeze!

[Pause]

[With wonder and excitement] Wow. I can literally make you do anything. And… I can make you forget about it afterwards, too, so there’s really no harm in… embarrassing you…just a bit. After all, you can’t be angry with me if you don’t know what I did to you.

Answer truthfully. Do you know that I have a crush on you?

[Pause]

No? Okay, interesting. I thought I was being too obvious, but it looks like you’re more oblivious than I thought. [Chuckles] It would be annoying if you weren’t so cute.

[Getting an idea] Let’s go back to that first question I asked you tonight… Tell the truth this time. Do you have a crush on anyone?

[Disappointed, like she was waiting to hear her own name] Oh… You like that girl from the café.

[Brushing off the disappointment] Well, at least I know you like girls. I’d say that’s good news. [Chuckles] Gives me something I can work with.

[Dominant, but also a little nervous like she has butterflies] I’m not powerful enough to completely change your personality and make you fall in love with me, but… I *can* make you love me… for the night at least. I guess that’s good enough for me right now.
