[Scene opens in the city]

[SFX: General city sounds]

[You are with your boyfriend, shakily holding a camera as he smiles into it]

“Babe, c’mon, it’s fine! Urban exploration is a little dangerous, but it’s all good. C’mon, all the viewers love you! Turn the camera around and give ‘em a smile!”

[...]

[You give a nervous smile before focusing back on him]

“Aww, such a cutie. Alright, fellow thrill-seekers! This here is an abandoned building with a beginner difficulty level - for pros! I am trained in parkour, I am trained in urban exploration, please do not be dumbasses and try to recreate my stunts, alright? My partner here worries more than enough about me. Even made me make a damned ‘password’ in case I got too scared, pfft.”

[Pause…]

“I’m kidding, I’m kidding! It’s cute that you care about me babe, but we’ve got stunts to do! So keep the camera on me, alright? We gotta start with a bit of parkour up the first three floors!”

[P-Pause]

[You film as he takes a few deep breaths and then begins his act. As always, he’s amazing, moving and darting about effortlessly while you film him. Then, you hear him let out a grunt of surprise as his foot slips on a bit of ivy and he tumbles down]

[SFX: The Speaker parkouring for VA’s discretion before letting out a flurry of Jersey-style swears and colliding with the garbage dumpster with one quick, gruff:]

“Fuck-!”

[Pause!!!]

[SFX: The camera being dropped and the Listener hurrying over to the Speaker]

[He groans, rubbing his back]

“Ow… Babe, the camera!!”

[Pause!!]

“Godamnit, I’m fine, just grab the camera! You always freak out like this and every single time I have to remind you: I’m trained in this! Accidents are minimal! And you need to grow the fuck up and stop thinking every single jump is gonna be my last one, hon!”

[...]

[He sighs deeply and stands while you go and get the camera. Fortunately, it is intact]

“...You’re crying, aren’t you…”

[Pause!]

“Honey, I can see the snot running down your face, c’mon…”

[...]

[He sighs again]

“...I’m sorry I yelled… I’m sorry I made fun of your little passwords… I’m sorry I’m a fucking dick. I’m sorry you could do a lot better. The shoot’s ruined so let’s just go home so I can take my medication and you can cry in peace, if that’s what you want.”

[...]

“Don’t apologize, just… C’mon. Let’s go.”

[He’s doing his best to be supportive but… he’s pretty bad at it. You can tell he’s still disappointed and it cuts to the core]

[Fade out on them heading home]

[He makes sure you’re sitting down before he speaks again]

“...Look, I’ll give you some space, OK? I’m gonna head into the office with the footage and see what can be salvaged.”

[...]

“...I’m not mad at you.”

[...]

“I’m not, OK! I just need a little space and then I promise, I will come home and we’ll work this out, OK?”

[...]

[He eases. A little]

“...Ya’ head hurting?”

[You nod]

“Yeah, figured… You and those migraines. Here, let me get you some aspirin ‘fore I go… Least I could do, eh?”

[Pause <3]

[SFX: Aspiring being shaken out]

[Pause…]

“I know, honey… I know. The pills are always enormous, I don’t know how anyone is meant to choke ‘em down. I always gag on the meds they gave me for my bad back.”

[Pause <3]

[He offers you a little smile]

“Yeah, I know… Love you, OK? Even if I’m not the best at showing it…”

[Pause…]

“Yeah… I’ll see you later, hon. Be safe.”

[He kisses your forehead as you take the aspirin and lie down. He’s gone by the time you shut your eyes]

[Fade out from Listener’s perspective]

[Fade in on the Speaker at his cute little streamer office]

[SFX/FX: Him messing with the earlier footage]

[He sighs, watching himself nail the the dumpster on his descent, over and over]

“...I should call them…”

[Pause]

“...No, they’re probably already asleep. It’s late…”

[SFX: His phone ringing - VA’s discretion on ringtone]

“Oop, speak of the Devil…”

[He answers the phone, sounding slightly happier]

“Hey, good-looking! Doing OK?”

[Pause <3]

[He chuckles, easing a bit]

“Hehe… You’re always so cute when you’re in a good mood… Hearing you so happy is nice.”

[Pause~]

[SFX: A few faint car honks/city chatter]

“It’s kind of loud, baby. You got the TV on extra loud or something?”

[Pause]

[SFX: The chatter growing more apparent]

“Oh, you took a walk into the city…? I thought you weren’t feeling good. You asked me to get you aspirin, remember? Plus it’s damned 2 AM, you shouldn’t…”

[Pause <3]

[He pauses for a moment]

[SFX: The chatter fully present]

“...Baby… Where are you right now…?”

[...]

“...Honey.”

[He sounds a lot younger when he’s scared]

[Pause?]

“Angel.”

[Pause???]

[His voice grows shakier]

“...I know you’re feeling silly, but I need you to tell me where you are, please.”

[Pause…]

[He can barely manage]

“...the abandoned building I wanted to explore…? Godamn, how-?? You would have had to have scaled the wall and parkoured up a few levels, how?!”

[Pause!]

“The aspirin…?”

[He falls silent again. It’s very windy up here]

“...Honey…?”

[Pause?]

“...I think I accidentally gave you my medication…”

[...]

“Yes! Yeah! They’re very, VERY strong pain relievers, sweetie! I’m used to the dosage but you aren’t and, fuck’s sake, you haven’t eaten. You’re high as a kite!”

[...!!!!]

“No, no no no no, don’t panic! Do not panic… You are going to be OK. I promise, alright? It’s OK. We will get through this, alright you adorable drug ninja? It’s gonna be OK!”

[PaUsE!!!]

“No, honey, I know! I was so mean earlier, I know, and know this bullshit! I know! I am King Ass, Ass of Kings, I know! I’m a big, dumb, mean meathead that barely amuses you with my stupid accent and muscles, I know!”

[PaUsuekeu!!!]

“Baby, for fuck’s sake, I know you love me for the person I am! Godamnit, just… Can you just stay put? Can you sit down and just try to ground yourself for me?”

[Pause…]

“Sweetie, honey, love of my life, listen. Please, listen, OK? I know you’re scared and you want to get down. I know. I’m coming to get you, OK? We’ll get you home, you can curl up in these nice, big arms, and we’ll talk it out, OK? But you need to stay right there.”

[...]

“...Honey?”

[...]

“Hey-!”

[P-Pause???]

“Baby, do NOT try to get yourself down! Please! I know you got up, but getting down is a LOT harder!!”

[...]

[His voice cracks. You can hear him desperately grabbing his things in a hurry]

“Honey, we’re not streaming! This isn’t for a stream or a live, you’re not being recorded right now, there’s no safety net, there’s no one to catch you if you fall!”

[Pause?]

“No, DON’T FALL! DO NOT FALL!”

[Pause?]

[He goes dead silent even though you can hear him scrambling out the door]

“The password…? Right! Right!! You gave me a password in case I got scared to do the stunt! I remember! It was green, right? Green!”

[Pause!]

“Huh? No… NO, GREEN MEANS GO! I MEANT RED! RED!”

[SFX: Rushing air]

“BABY!”

[SFX: Collision… / car alarms sounding]

[Fade out on people screaming in alarm / the Speaker screaming from his side of the call, if desired]
