Context: Listener walks up in the Nightmare King's Dungeon. She is so confused because one minute she was with Traum and the next she woke up her. Suddenly Listener senses that she is not alone in this dark hell hole.

• Alptraum: Hello my little doll. It's so nice to see you again. I see Drachen managed to track you down. (Listener looks at her arm) Oh! You see my mark on your arm. That black star is one of my newest inventions. Once it's placed on someone, they are instantly pulled into my domain, whether they're in the dream world or the waking world.

(Alptraum steps closer to Listener)

I knew the moment you crossed into my domain that you would be the perfect addition to my collection. Your fear was particularly delicious. Now you will reside here in my dungeons until your physical body perishes. Then I will transfer you to your new, permanent home. Why do I have to wait until your physical body dies? Well as long as you have ties to the waking world, there will always be the chance that those pesky Dream walkers could rescue you. You will resist until you are rescued?

My my. You sure do have a great deal of fire in you, my dear. However, you must realize that your new home is with me. I just got you back and I never let my prizes go without a fight. If your prince charming tries to break in and rescue you, then he will receive a nasty surprise made just for him. (uncorks a bottle) Just drink this and maybe I'll try to be gentle.

(In waking world)

Why aren't you waking up?! You can't be in a coma, unless... He's got you! Why didn't I notice it sooner. The black star mark on your neck, the sudden drowsiness. Those are the signs of Alptraum claiming another toy for his collection of horror. Don't worry love, I'm coming to get you. (Grabs Listener's hand and jumps into her dream world)

(In dream world)

OK now is to see where that psycho is keeping her. His Castle is huge, so I need to be careful not to be spotted. It's either in the dungeons or his personal chambers. Those places are usually the most fortified and guarded. Luckily for me, I know a back door.

(Inside the Night Castle)

OK first place to check is the dungeons. I have to hurry. She doesn't have much time left. Man, there are more guards than usual. Maybe it's supposed to be a trap or maybe she is being kept here. No choice but to investigate. (Magic sound) I do hope that this little skirmish didn't make too much noise.

(Door creaking) Love? Love?! Can you hear me?! Still has a pulse, but her face is so pale. The connection between her physical body and her dream body is weakening. I have to get her out of here.

Not so fast, dream walker. Get your hands off my prize.

How dare you do this! You have so many other toys to play with, why do you need her?! (Listener eyes open slightly) Honey! Can you hear me?! What did he do to you?!

I see sleeping beauty has finally awoken. And as for what I've done to the poor lamb, I gave here a concoction of twilight root and moon berries. This will make the connection with her bodies weaken even faster than normal. The only way to save her is to get her to the tree of dreams. But you of all people should know that once I claim a doll, I find it very hard to share. You will die here and the last thing you see will be your beloved become one with the void.

(Magic sounds)

Give it up Alptraum, your reign of terror and darkness is over!

Go on and end me boy! Blast me with your "sacred" light and be done with me!

That is not my decision to make. Your fate will be decided by the moonlight council. I will restrain you until they arrive. (Looks at Listener) In the meantime, I have more important things to take care of.

(In the waking world)

Come on darling. Please wake up. I couldn't have been too late (Listener slowly opens her eyes) You're awake! (Hugs Listener) I'm so glad you're ok! I was so worried you wouldn't make it. I thought I was too late. Don't get up too quickly. You still need rest and will probably be weak for some time. Having one's dream body separated from the physical body can cause quite a bit of strain and damage. You will be staying here until the doctors can determine if no major damage was caused. What about Alptraum? Don't worry about him. He's getting the punishment he deserves. Just focus on resting. And if you are scared of falling asleep, your dream-self will be protected by a squad of dream walkers. You can rest easy. See your eyes are already drooping.
