SCRIPT HERE-approximately 1300 words

While I have tried my hand at writing horror before, this is only my second attempt at it. And the first time I tried horror was really only a background element. So what better time to get some practice in than for Halloween? And to do that I've taken inspiration from a movie I've watched every Halloween night for the past 7 years: the 1931 Universal adaptation of Frankenstein.

It's movie nerd time. This film was actually super controversial at the time of release. One reason is because [SPOILERS] a child dies during the runtime. Kids are rarely killed off even in movies these days, let alone in the 1930s. Another reason was because during the famous "It's alive" scene Dr.Frankenstein says "Now I know what it feels like to be God!" (A line I drew particular inspiration from for this script). Needless to say an audience of Christian Americans during that time period largely considered the film blasphemy due to that. Now I'm gonna stop myself before I ramble off every fact I know about this movie. Please watch it. It aged surprisingly well.

Out of all horror, body horror seems to be the kind that gets to me the most. I think it's because I'm trans so I already know what it's like to feel trapped in a body that isn't yours, and body horror is just that dialed up to the extreme. So this script also has big elements of that. I hope you enjoy the first of my Halloween scripts for this month! Thank you for reading!
