[F4M] Saying Goodbye to Your Alien Girlfriend Before She Goes Back to Her Galaxy [Sad] [Hugs] [Kissing] [Sweet] [Comfort] [Wholesome]
Author Summary
PrinceInYellow is a female looking for a male in Wholesome
Post Body

So, I want you to promise me something, okay? Whenever you miss me, whenever you feel sad or alone, whenever you need a hug or a kiss or a cuddle and I'm not there to give it to you, I want you to look right up at that star. And I want you to know that even if I'm a trillion light years away across the wide universe, I'm looking up at it, too. I'll always be a part of you, and you'll always be a part of me. That thread between us can't be broken.

Summary: Your alien girlfriend's limited time on Earth is up, and she has to go back to her galaxy. The two of you have a sad goodbye conversation before she boards her spaceship, including a farewell hug and kiss, some kind reassurance about yourself, and a little story to help feel less alone without her after she's gone.

Thanks to u/DreamGirlNightmares for the idea!

Well… I think that's everything.

Thanks for helping me lug all my stuff back to my ship, I know there was a lot. Especially with my vinyl collection… I really thought we could make it fit into 2 boxes, sorry about that. (Laugh) I just couldn't bear to leave any of my records behind… we don't have any music like this on my planet. People back home are going to freak when they hear David Bowie for the first time. (Laugh)

Also… if I left one behind, I wouldn't be able to listen to it and remember where we were when you and I first listened to it together. And I don't want to forget a single one of those moments with you.

…

Aww, you're sweet. But… it's okay. You will forget. I know human memory isn't as long-lasting as ours is, it's not your fault. Blame your species' under-evolved hippocampus… no offense. (Laugh) I… I know that when I'm gone, you'll move on, and you'll experience new things and meet new people, and gradually our time together will become a memory fading in the rear-view mirror. It's just the way it is.

…

Don't make promises you can't keep. (Sad laugh) That's really sweet of you to say that, but, it's alright… you don't owe it to me to spend the rest of your life reminiscing about what we had. You deserve to move on and grow and find love with someone else. You deserve to be happy.

…

Aww, I know… I don't want anyone else either. But we already talked about this, there's really nothing I can do. I have to go home. Believe me, I'd do anything to stay, but I just can't. And I know that where I'm going, you can't follow, unless you spontaneously developed the ability to breathe xenon last night. (Laugh)

But let's not waste the little time we have left together rehashing all that again. Instead, can you come a little closer? I want one last hug.

…

Mmm, that's it, lean in real close. I love your hugs so much. Be good, okay? Don't get into too much trouble… I won't be there to bail you out with my invisibility ray anymore. (Laugh) Remember to eat healthy and drink your water… God, you humans and your water, you're practically addicted! It's so weird since you're like 70% water already, you'd think you wouldn't need anymore. (Laugh) And… don't be too hard on yourself. I know you feel down and get depressed sometimes, but you're a really, really great guy, and you shouldn't ever feel like you don't matter or you're not good enough.

Trust me – I've traveled all around the cosmos, but I've never met anyone quite like you. I've never met anyone as kind, as smart, as creative, anyone who makes me laugh like you do. You're unique and valuable, even if it doesn't always feel like it. In a universe of infinite possibilities, you still manage to be one of a kind.

And I know, I know, I'm just some alien chick from outer space, what do I know about humans, right? (Laugh) Well… I know enough by now to know that you're a good one. You're going to find someone new someday… and they'll be so, so lucky to have you. I wish that person you spend your life with could be me. But I know it can't.

…

Hey, hey, chin up, come on, look into my eyes. It's okay that yours are a little wet, don't worry, you don't have to try to hide it. I've always told you I think human emotion is a beautiful thing, and I meant it. And it's especially beautiful in you. It's okay… Shh, shh. I know it's hard to find the right words. There's just so many things we both had left to say and there's so little time… But, there is one last thing I want to tell you.

…

You see that star up there? The really bright one. I know you humans call that one Polaris, the North Star. But my people call it something else… in your language it would roughly translate to "The Seamstress." In our old myths, it was said that when two people made a connection, they were linked by a kind of invisible cosmic thread. The Seamstress was the deity that wove these threads, and even though you couldn't see a thread, once she spun it never broke, no matter what. Even if both people moved to opposite ends of the world, even if they forgot everything about each other, even if one of them died, that thread still bound them. And the old myths say that if there's another world somewhere out there, beyond the known universe… that thread is what two people who forged a genuine connection will follow to find each other again.

Nowadays, most people on my world scoff at all that stuff. They think it's just old world superstition, a relic from before the age of science and technology that gave us all our spaceships and interstellar travel and laser guns… but I don't feel that way. I think stories are important, and I've always really liked that story.

And… one day… maybe in another world, another life… maybe, just maybe, we'll follow that thread back to each other.

…

Aww, I know. Here, nuzzle in close, just hold me tight. (Sniffle) It's okay. Hey… do you think I could have one last kiss? I've gotten really fond of kissing, I think that's the human invention I'll miss the most. Well, that and board games. Oh, by the way, let's settle one thing really quick, I did not cheat in that last game of Scrabble we played. It's not my fault if you didn't specify we were only using human languages and–

[Kiss]

Oh… That was perfect. Just perfect. One more please? For the road? (Laugh)

[Kiss]

I love you so much. I wish we could just stop time and draw this moment out forever, but… I know that's just science fiction. Well, I guess this is goodbye.

[Footsteps]

Remember what I said, okay? You're a really special person. I won't forget you. Goodbye. Have a good life for me. And… if there is someplace else beyond the universe… I'll be waiting for you.
