[Scene opens in your apartment]

[SFX: A faint shower going and a quiet knock]

[You knock on the bathroom door in your apartment and your roommate calls out:]

[D] “What do you want, Batty??”

[Pause?]

[D] “Artlarl, I almost drank that shampoo, bluh! Yeah, Sven should be here in a few minutes!”

[Pause??]

[D] “...So why did I wait until the last minute to get ready for dinner? Man, fuck you! Take that goth sass and stow it with your moonbeams and boomslang venom!”

[Pause <3]

[D] “Ohoho, you are SO not kicking me out of bed for that comment! You know the heat is still busted and that curvy butt of yours is all that’s keeping both of us from freezing at night!”

[Pause~]

[D] “Yeah, yeah, Sven knows we cuddle. Begrudgingly. You’ve been chatting with him, tho, so I doubt he’s going to be surprised that we bully each other. You ever get any less awkward talking with him?”

[Pause <3]

[SFX: Fill-in with shower]

[D] “...What do you mean ‘in a manner of speaking’? Hey, you best not be weirding out my college buds, Batty, no matter how much of a kick you get out of it!”

[Pause <3]

[Damien lets out a grumpy sigh, well over-exaggerated]

[D] “You’re the worst. Can you please just get the door for Sven?”

[Pause!]

[SFX: A doorbell/the Listener hurrying for the door]

[D] “Woop, there he is. Fly, Batty! FLY!”

[Pause]

[You open the door, leaning casually against the door frame]

[SFX: A door opening]

[A surprisingly handsome man is practically bouncing on his heels as you open the door, half turned away as he messes with a bag. He turns as you open the door and smiles]

[S] “Hej! Damien, it’s so good t-to…”

[He pauses, eyes fixated on you in surprise]

[S] “To… oh.”

[...Pause?]

[S] “No, no, I do not have a problem! None at all! It is just… Damien, when he talked about his roommate, he didn’t say they were so…”

[He makes a grand, sweeping gesture with his hands]

[S] “Gorgeous! Batty, you look even better than in your pics!”

[...<3]

[D, distantly] “Sven! Oh, man, one second, I’m just getting my belt on! Batty, thanks for getting the door!”

[SFX: Footsteps approaching]

[Sven smiles down at you, eyes twinkling with mischief]

[S] “‘Batty’ is a cute name… It suits you! I fall to bits cooing over how cute bats are all the time~”.

[Pause <3]

[Damien enters the room excitedly but pauses when he sees you two]

[D] “Sven! Man, it has been ages-! Oh… Well, you two have already gotten acquainted, it seems…”

[Pause~]

[Damien scoffs but still smiles]

[D] “Figures. Actually, wait, no it doesn’t! Batty, you’re always grumpy, and Sven is the happiest man alive!”

[Sven laughs it off]

[S] “You didn’t warn me about how cute they are! You said I should expect a goth hoodie pillbug, but look at this! And that! And those…”

[Pause~]

[D] “I forgot how easily impressed you are, Sven. C’mere, bring it in, you massive dick!”

[They hug, laughing and maybe punching a little too much. Damien looks between the two of you, unsure]

[D] “So… I guess you two hit it off over chat, huh?”

[S] “Of course! They’re so funny, Damien! And sweet and-, oh! You were going to show me the pair of underwear you found at that odd clothing shop, right Batty?”

[SFX: Cloth moving]

[D] “Dude! You can’t just pull your shirt up and show off your underwear to our guests!”

[S] “Niiiiiiice. Very cute~”.

[D, annoyed] “Do you two want to get in a quickie or something before we do sushi?”

[You and Sven exchange cheeky smiles]

[S] “Well, I just got done with a twelve-hour flight and I could probably use the exercise… Get the blood pumping~.”

[Pause <3]

[D] “Alright, that’s it, you two are getting a talking to later. Right now, drop your bags off, and let’s go get some grub!”

[S, laughing] “Hehe, of course. Just us, right?”

[D] “Yes, just us. You’ll have to stop flirting for an hour or two, you tall dingus.”

[S] “I flirt with you all the time, though!”

[D] “That’s bro flirting! Shut up, c’mon, let’s get moving. Batty, can you hold down the place for a few?”

[Pause!]

[D] “Thanks. I’ll bring you back a to-go box, alright? You want boba?”

[Pause <3]

[D] “Got it. Thanks, babe.”

[Pause???]

[S, wheezing] “‘Babe’??? That’s the nicest thing you’ve ever called them!”

[D, blushing] “SHUT UP! SUSHI! NOW!”

[SFX: Them hurrying off / the door shutting and being locked]

[You've lied down for the night. Hours have passed and you figure Damien and Sven decided to grab drinks]

[SFX: A quiet knock]

[Pause?]

[D, slurring] "Yeah, we're home... Can I come in? I put your stuff in the fridge."

[Pause]

[SFX: The door opening, shutting, and Damien flopping into bed]

[D] "Guhhh... Drank too much... C'mere, I need the hugs."

[Pause]

[SFX: The bed shifting]

[Pause?]

[He mumbles uncertainly, still holding you close]

[D] “I’m not that dunk. Sven jus’ said ‘Muricans can’t drink at his level n’ I had to prove him wrong.”

[Pause.]

[D, grumped] “I do not smell like whiskey dick… Yer a whiskey dick…”

[Pause?]

[D] “No, Sven’s passed out in the guest room… I made sure he had blankies since it gets so cold without heat…”

[Pause…]

[SFX: The covers rustling]

[D] “...yeah, m’ OK… Guess I just wasn’t ‘specting that you two got close enough to flirt… That was an us thing, you know?”

[Pause~]

[D] “OK, OK, we bully flirt, but still! I don’t want you getting heartbroken by some guy… Even if he’s my best friend. Sven is cool, don’t get me wrong, I trust him with my life… Just… not with you? Oh God, I’m a bad person.”

[Pause?]

[SFX: Pat pat]

[D] “...Yeah, I saw the water bottle on my side. Thanks… M’ gonna sleep now, OK?”

[Pause]

[SFX: Covers rustling for a bit]

[He’s quiet for a moment before he speaks again, almost sheepish:]

[D] “...do you think Sven’s good-looking? Like… better looking than me?”

[...]

[SFX: A quiet knock at the door]

[You exchange looks with Damien and say ‘Come in?’. The door opens and a very sleepy Sven stands there, rubbing his eyes]

[S] “Is cold. Got room for one more?”

[D] “Uhhh….”

[Pause~]

[SFX: The bed shifting]

[S] “Beautiful! Let me just get in here on your other side… There~. Now you have two big muscly dummies to keep you warm, eh? Hehe. Sorry in advance if I shark you.”

[Pause]

[You’re doing your best not to crack up. Damien, meanwhile, is in sheer disbelief]

[S] “Damien, my friend, you’re staring. Do you want a kiss goodnight?”

[D] “...Bro, my goth heater…”

[Pause!]

[That one gets you and you quickly roll your face into your pillow to avoid waking your neighbors. The two himbos bicker faintly until they eventually both go from playful burns to volcanic snores]
