[A ceremony is underway. Drums bang in rhythm as the listener approaches the cliff. The lake’s waves are turbulent, and with a shove, listener is thrown into the lake.]

[water rushing, bubbling, the sounds of things swimming about]

[slowly, the wooshing and bubbling sounds fade away to be replaced by soft, trickling water]

[long pause]

“Your kind have been sending people to me for ages but… many of their souls don’t survive the journey to this sacred place.”

“I am glad that you survived the journey, my lady. How do you feel?”
