After seeing a makeup tutorial, you decide that your emo roommate would be the perfect practice subject. (~1300 words)

This is a very domestic vanilla script, a huge jump from that yandere one *shudder* but yeah, just a little slice-of-life moment.

I didn’t mean to abandon y’all lolz I just got super busy with Anime Expo. I was cramming the last details of my hand-made cosplay. I volunteered for 40 hours throughout the entire con and walked around/ actually enjoyed the con for 10 ish hours, definitely not worth it, truly a 3/10 experience for that reason, but tickets were expensiveeeee AND ONE OF MY COWORKERS READ ME LIKE A BOOK AND GUESSED MY FAVORITE BACHELOR FROM STARDEW VALLEY WHEN I DIDN’T EVEN ASK HER TO (and I think you can guess based on this script too). She said it was obvious based on the way I’m “built.” Anyways.

After the EMO opens the LISTENER’S bedroom door, they smugly lean against the doorframe.

You texted? You know you could’ve just walked to my room, right? It’s literally across the hall.

They examine the situation, the listener laying in bed.

​

EMO

Actually, you do look pretty comfy. Hmm, let me guess, you were scrolling through TikTok for hours just lying there?

EMO

(slightly flustered)

Of course I’d come over if you asked. What if you were like, dying or something?

[...]

​

EMO

I don’t know. Do you want me to give you a hyperspecific example based on something stupid you’d totally do?

(chuckling)

So, what do you want, lazy bum? Don’t tell me you called me over just to show me TikToks.

But, that makeup doesn’t exactly fit my style, I go for a more minimal look, nothing too extreme.

The listener whips out a big ol’ bag of makeup supplies.

Wow, you really went all out, huh? I hope you bought all that stuff on sale or something, I know makeup’s not cheap. How long did you have this all ready?

If you’ve had it for that long then you really were too chicken to try it.

It's fine if you mess up. With this style, sometimes the messier the better. I'm guessing we're doing my makeup first.

The listener takes out some face wipes.

I just washed my face a little bit ago, I don’t think I need to wipe my face.

Okay, whatever. Hand one over.

(flustered)

I can do it myself!

Okay, okay. Let me at least put the hair clips on by myself.

(sighing)

I wasn't planning on going out today so it's super messy.

They clip their hair to expose their face.

EMO

Okay, there. I guess you can wipe my face now.

The listener hesitates.

​

EMO

(teasing, chuckling)

What are you getting all shy for? Just go for it already.

The listener gently wipes their face in long smooth strokes, the two of them going quiet for a few moments.

EMO

(drowsy)

Finished yet? Now I'm getting all tired.

EMO

(flustered)

Huh? Why would I lie down? How long will this take?!

(pause)

Stop giving me that look. Whatever, just don't draw anything stupid on me.

They lay down and get comfortable.

EMO

There. I'll close my eyes so it isn't weird. Nothing too extreme, okay?

Alright, I'll hold you to it.

The listener settles in and comes close.

Hmm? Wait, turn to my right or your right? Just tilt my face if you want, I don't mind.

(defiantly holding back a yawn)

I'm not falling asleep.

I said I'm not. For your information, I've been trying to sleep earlier, so it's on you if my efforts are ruined toward some sort of sleep schedule if I nap right now.

I don't know, I can't help it. I guess I feel… calm around you.

(chuckling)

Just a little, so don't get full of yourself.

(normal)

It's been super stressful lately, so it's… nice taking my mind off of it even for a bit.

(If you'd like to insert some ramblings about stresses or stuff you've been doing feel free to! Examples: talking about a new hobby you've picked up, plans you have, and general stresses like work or school stuff. They check their reflection out with a handheld mirror.

No, you're the clown. Oh whatever, lie down, it's my turn.

(mischievous)

I already have something in mind.

(teasing)

Oh come on, trust me! Would I ever do something mean to you?

Now shush and let me do my thing. Lie down. And close your eyes so this isn't weird.

The listener lies down and the emo begins their artistic makeup skills.

(LONG pauses in between)

Okay, I'll start with the wipes. I’m not being too rough, right? Okay, moving on to the next stuff. Here we go, a little eyeliner. Try your best not to flinch. You’re doing good. Time to smudge it just a bit. Alright, I'm gonna do some lipstick.

Hey, trust my artistic vision, alright? Now hold still or else I'll mess up. And uhm, pucker your lips a bit. Thank you.

(shyly)

I'm gonna have to come closer.

They scoot closer and continue. After a few moments, the listener looks at them mere inches away from their face.

EMO

(nervous)

H-hey I said not to open your eyes!

(sighing, slightly disappointed)

Oh well, I'm basically done… you can sit up now.

The listener sits up.

​

EMO

Here's the mirror, so what do you think?

EMO

Really? Thank god. Well, this was fun. Maybe we should hang out like this more often?

EMO

(teasing)

Aw, so you do like spending time with me.

There is an awkward pause.

Huh? No, not really thinking of anything in particular. I guess I'm kind of dozing off.

I'm just appreciating my makeup skills up close. That lipstick… really suits you.

There is yet another awkward pause and they break it with a loud aggressive groan of annoyance.

Ughhhhh, I'm gonna regret saying this. If you don't want to just say so and we can pretend it never happened. And don't bring it up to make fun of me.

(shyly)

Could I… could we… kiss?

[...]

EMO

(trying to hide their excitement)

What, really?

(normal)

Then come here.

They kiss, progressively growing more passionate before the emo suddenly pulls away.

(chuckling)

Woah calm down. You'll ruin my hard work.

Just messing, we can keep going.

Ugh, fine. I want to keep going. At least lie down and let me hug you.

The two lay together and snuggle up one another.

I did say it was on you if I ruined my sleep schedule by napping.

They cling on tighter.

They look at the listener.

(softly)

I really, really, like you, if it wasn't obvious enough.

They kiss again.
