Context: Your partner suggested a trip out to a winter cabin to bond after some trouble in your relationship. It seems to have turned out quite nicely, and he has a nice night planned out for you both, despite the snowstorm raging outside. You're just looking forward to a drama-free night, for once.

[Scene opens in a winter cabin]

[SFX: The cabin door opening/a snowstorm raging outside/the door closing and logs being set down]

[You turn as a handsome yet tired-looking man hurries inside, setting logs down before shutting the door behind him]

[S] “Bluhh… It’s getting really bad outside. I don’t want you going outside until the storm clears up a bit, OK?”

[Pause]

[S] “I swear, the damned weather lords on the news never seem to get anything right.”

[...Pause?]

[S] “No, I’m fine, sweetheart. Don’t worry. The storm is bad but I doubt I’m going to go catching my death of cold. Sadly, I think this means that we’re not going to get any delivery tonight.”

[Pause]

[S] “Haha, don’t worry. We can cook up some hot dogs in the fireplace. There are chips in the pantry and I’m sure we can plop some sodas in the snow. Kind of romantic, isn’t it?”

[Pause]

[S] “Aw, baby… You don’t need to go running to get a blanket. Why don’t we sit down on the couch together for a bit, in front of the fire?”

[...Pause]

[SFX: The couch reacting to their weight]

[You sit next to him and he draws you close, fingers drifting up to your hair]

[S, gentle] “There’s my darling little Dove, so calm as I stroke their hair and hold them close. Let’s get you warmed up, OK? You’re trembling…”

[Pause…]

[S] “Embarrassed? Why are you embarrassed, sweetheart?”

[Pause]

[He listens, giving away no reaction until you are done]

[S] “Ah, right, your memory problems… Yes, it wouldn’t be the first time you’d forgotten my name…”

[...Pause…]

[S] “Shh, no, baby… It’s OK. My name is Seren, but you usually just call me ‘Ser’.”

[Pause <3]

[S, pleased] “Oh, you’re very welcome, my sweet. You are always so good to me… Given my past, I truly appreciate your kindness more than anything…”

[Pause?]

[His smile fades slightly]

[S] “My past… Goodness, your memory really is acting up tonight. I wasn’t always a good person, sweetheart… I got in lots and lots of fights when I didn’t need to. What I needed was a sweetheart like you to show me the right way… I love you for that, you know?”

[Pause <3]

[SFX: The fire crackling gently]

[You stay cuddled up with him, gently stroking his chest]

[S, with a sigh] “Oh, baby… You were so right. We really needed a vacation, just you and I. I know we’d been having some fights, but I swear, I was always just stressed about work. Any stress I passed on to you, I truly am sorry for.”

[Pause]

[S] “Noo, it’s not OK… You’ve already got so much on your plate, you don’t need your boyfriend adding on to that stress. I want to make you happy.”

[His tone shifts briefly, a bit more serious]

[S] “Whatever that takes… Whatever it costs… It doesn’t matter to me how, I promise, I’ll find a way to make you happy, baby…”

[Pause]

[S] “Hmm…? Oh, you’re so cute. So, so cute… Gods, ahm, what were we talking about?”

[Pause?]

[S] “Ah, the storm, right. I reckon it’ll let up by tomorrow afternoon. How come, sweetheart?”

[Pause]

[S] “Ah, need some stuff from town. I could walk there if it’s really important…?”

[...]

[He perks, worried]

[S] “You’re not feeling well? Oh, my poor hon bun. I’ll run and grab you some medicine tomorrow, I promise. The snow is a little too heavy tonight… Here, I’ll keep you nice and warm…”

[He draws you closer, rubbing your back]

[Pause…]

[S] “Shh… Ser has you. I’ve got plenty of body heat to share, hmhm… I think that’s why you fell asleep against me on that train, eh?”

[Pause]

[He chuckles]

[S] “Why are you still embarrassed over that? It was a little silly, sure, but it also landed you a very loving, mildly intelligent, and acceptably OK-looking boyfriend, right?”

[Pause]

[S] “Hehe, and very modest, I know. I mean, I was the one coming across like a lovesick puppy after that little encounter… I’m just glad you gave me a chance.”

[Pause <3]

[His eyes burn into yours, making your body tremble]

[S] “Gods, I’m crazy about you, haha… I am absolutely crazy about you, Dove. Every time I glance over and see you, my whole body becomes desperate as sin just to be close to you… I want you so damned badly…”

[P-Pause]

[S] “Hmhm, sorry… I know my desires can be pretty intense. I don’t know how to love in a non-intense way, so I’m even more grateful you don’t mind kisses that bruise on occasion… Or how I love to squeeze that gentle neck of yours. Your eyes looking up at me with implicit fear but trust… Rrgh, sorry, getting all worked up, haha…”

[Pause…]

[He draws you forward into a demanding kiss]

[S] “Mmh… Oh, love, your lips taste like blood… Mmh, I just want to take you to bed… I know you don’t feel good though, so I may have to really try and behave myself, hmhm. Would you like me to see if I can heat up some soup in the cooking pot?”

[Pause <3]

[S, chuckling] “I love how shy you can get… If you want to go get a shower, then I’ll heat up that soup. Chicken noodle? Clam chowder?”

[Pause]

[S] “You got it, Dove. Anything for you. Hey, maybe once I have it simmering, I can join you in the shower, eh?”

[Pause…]

[S] “Oh, of course, honey. You can have a few minutes of privacy before I join you. But I can’t have you showering alone when you’re not feeling well, love. What if you fall and bump that cute little head?”

[Pause!]

[He smiles dreamily, sitting up]

[S] “I love how well you behave for me, Dove. Go on, get the shower running, and get yourself all warmed up and relaxed. I’ll put your soup on and then join you, OK? Don’t lock the door, please…”

[His smile fades ever-so-slightly]

[S] “I don’t like it when I can’t get to you… Makes me nervous…”

[Pause]

[You affectionately pat his arm and he smiles again]

[S] “Right. Soup time. See you soon, babydoll.”

[SFX: Heavy boots heading opposite of the Listener as they hurry into the bedroom/shutting the door]

[Pause]

[SFX: A shower turning on]

[...P-Pause]

[SFX: A phone call being made/the shower running]

[You wait, keeping the shower running as hard as possible]

[911] “911, what is your emergency?”

[Pause…]

[911] “Sorry, it’s hard to hear you over the shower. Did you say that there’s a stranger in your cabin with you?”

[SFX: Knock, knock, knock]

[S, outside the door] “Darling… Can I join you in the shower, please?”

[...]

[911] “Who is speaking? Your partner?”

[SFX: Knock. Knock. Knock]

[S] “Darling…”

[911] “You don’t know who that is… but it’s not your partner…?”

[Pause!!]

[SFX: The door opening]

[S] “I’m coming in, sweetheart… Ready or not~”.
