A/N: I’ve always wanted to write an action heavy script like this. It was lots of fun, but I could have done better! I promise I’ll write a more traditional ASMR script soon, haha!

“Hey! I’m not a worrywart!”

“I just… care about you a lot, alright?”

“... And goodness knows what your father will do to me if I let you get hurt…”

“Ha! Of course I can handle anything that comes my way! I’m an Elven Ranger, the best of the best! There’s not a single enemy that can sneak up on me!”

“St–Stop laughing… I just… didn’t expect you to kiss me, that’s all…!”

“H-Hey! I meant enemies, not you! You’re not an enemy, you’re the opposite! S-So obviously I wouldn’t see you coming!”

“Of course!”

“There’s still a way to go until we reach the area those herbs grow in… and it’ll be harder to lose you in these woods if we’re holding hands.”

“Hmm… you’re right. The air does smell like mana flowers. Are those the herbs you were looking for?”

“Not the specific kind you came out for but always good to have?”

[laughter]

“Ah, indeed. Our casters would be happy to have the extract of some of these.”

“Do you need me to help you track their scent?”

“Alright then. Lead the way, darling.”

[walking]

(muttering) “I wonder why there are mana flowers growing out here all of a sudden…?”

[pause]

“Yes… mana flowers should only grow in areas where there’s a high density in mana… and there are spots out here like that, such as near fairy circles, but I haven’t heard any reports of a fairy circle popping up around here…”

“... All the more reason to be cautious, okay?”

[pause]

“You’re glad you have me, then?”

[he chuckles]

“Of course, love. You can count on me to protect you.”

[long pause]

“... Hang on.”

“... Do you smell that?”

[pause]

“Yes… I knew you noticed it too.”

“The scent of bloodboars. A whole herd of them, I bet”

“What are so many of them doing so close to naga territory?”

[pause]

“... No… I doubt a whole herd would come all the way here just to eat mana flowers.”

“Ah… as a Ranger, I should go scout it out, but you’re with me, and I don’t want to risk you…”

[pause]

“Oh, alright. I know how stealthy you are, knowing how often you sneak up to hug me from behind.”

“Stay close, my flower. Let’s go check it out.”

[growling]

“... Darling…”

“Get behind me.”

[rustling]

“Damn… and I call myself an Elven Ranger… I can’t even tell the difference between a mana eater covered in blood and a bloodboar…”

[heavy footsteps]

“... I can’t let this thing roam free. It’ll drain the earth of mana, and the Elder Tree will suffer.”

“Darling… run back to the village and inform the guards.”

[slam, ground crumbles]

[vines reach up and wrap around the creature]

“You used your growth magic to make vines to bind it! Good job!”

“Alright! Have a taste of my arrows!”

[arrows fly and land]

[roaring, ripping]

“Ugh–!”

[magic poof]

[the monster’s strike lands against your shield]

“Hah– a shield! You’ve gotten really good at that!”

“At its next strike, drop the shield and jump out of the way! It’ll imbalance it!”

[roar]

“Now!”

[ground crumbles as the two of you leap away]

[feel free to improvise]

“Now, while it’s on me!”

[vines]

“Okay, it’s bound by your vines again!”

“Hit it with the most powerful blast of magic you have! I’ll follow up with a homing arrow!”

[magic charging up]

“Foul beast…”

“TASTE THE MIGHT OF THE ELDER TREE!”

[blast]

“Ugh– darling, hang on!”

[crashing, roaring, and then silence]

[long pause]

“Haah… are you alright, my flower…?”

[pause]

“Oh… you’re shaking.”

“Hey, hey. It’s alright. Well done, you did so well.”

“Your father, the Chief… he’ll be proud of you. We took that mana eater down, just the two of us. And the Elder Tree won’t be threatened by it.”

[pause]

“Yeah… us Forest Rangers will have to look for more of them.”

“But you did amazing… you could have been one of our casters right then! You did such a good job supporting me!”

“... But most importantly… I’m glad you’re safe.”

[he hugs you]

“... Do you still need those herbs…?”

[pause]

“Oh come on, after this, we should really head back to the village, you know…”

[pause]

“... Just teasing me? Haha…”

[he ruffles your hair]

“Alright, my flower. Let’s go home. We’ll tell the chief about what happened… and then we can rest.”

[pause]

“Hm? Go visit the Elder Tree with you?”

“... It would be my honor.”
