[Scene opens up with class finishing up]

[SFX: Bell ringing.]

“Oh, before I forget darlings; be sure to study chapter 7’s review. There will be a test next Friday.”

[SFX: Shuffling papers]

“If any of you need an index card for a cheat sheet, please let me know.”

[SFX: Footsteps running out]

“…And there gone. Ugh. Why do I have a feeling that this class will do poorly in the test?”

[You walk in to the classroom]

“Oh, hey there. What brings you back here?”

[Pause]

“I see, figuring I’d invite you back into class. Just so you know that’s more of a Vampire thing. You don’t need permission to come back into class. Just come in.”

[You walk in]

“There now, feel better?”

[You nod]

“So, what brings you here today?”

[You ask for help]

“Oh, so a student is brave enough to finally ask me for help. Honestly, I figure I scare all the students to ask for help.”

[Under her breath]

“Or they are so scared by me that they study harder.”

[Pause]

“Anyways, so what do you need help with?”

[SFX: Paper shuffling]

"Okay, so...it seems like your still struggling in the showing of your work. Not to mention that some of the problems are incorrect."

[Pause]

"*Sigh* I imagine that old habits truly die hard."

[You ask if she could help]

"Well for starters..."

[SFX: Paper slamming on table]

[SFX: Circling on papers]

"These problems...let's start with that. Try to recreate your answer, and please...please show me your work."

[You nod]

"I appreciate it."

[SFX: Scribbling on paper]

[You hand in the paper and she looks it over]

"Ok, let's see...here."

[SFX: Scribbling on paper]

"Alright, I think I see your problem here. So, Let's start with this one."

[She shows you the problem]

"You see, you did the addition first outside of the Parentheses. Just a simple mistake that lead to the wrong equation."

[She points to the equation again]

"Try doing inside the Parentheses before anything else and then see what went wrong."

[You do the problem again and show her again]

"There, you see. Nothing that a little practice won't fix."

[She notices something about you]

"Okay, look. I have been around the block for a while. What's up?"

[Pause]

"Come on, come on. There's something that eating at you. So, what's the matter?"

[You look at her and ask if it's ok if she doesn't repeat it.]

"I'll just take a shot in the dark and say it has to do with me being a vampire."

[You say that's she's half right]

"Oh, I'm half right eh? Well, that still is a failing grade. So what is the other issue?"

[You say that you struggle with test in this environment]

"...Ah. Ok, so you struggle with taking test with other people around you. *Under her breath* no wonder you don't want this repeated."

[SFX: Chair pulling up]

"Okay, so with the first part. The issue of me being a vampire-"

[You try to say you mean not to offend her but she gently hushes you]

"Shh~. It's ok, it's ok. I totally get it. A "Blood sucker" like me, some people's first reaction is fear. If I got offended by anyone who was afraid of me, do you think I wouldn't get far in life?"

[You say as a teacher]

"Hey! Out of all the jobs I had over the centuries, this was the most fulfilling. I mean; Tax collators, Lawyers, Politicians as a Vampire. The jokes just right themselves."

[She gets closer]

"But the satisfaction of teaching someone algebra. Especially those struggling, I find so...Satisfyingly~"

[She slightly sighs]

"*Clears throat* Sorry, the endorphins that I get from teaching is just so amazing."

[You look in confusion]

"Long story short; Some vampires get certain satisfaction of hunting, doing different things, etc. etc. I however, just get relief teaching someone a new lesson. Especially when I know it isn't their strongest subject."

[She leans back and you can hear her cracking her bones]

"So the last thing I want you to feel is uncomfterble. I'll just address the common questions I get. First, I can't go into direct sunlight. That rumor is true. Think of it as a allergic reaction over say burning to a crisp."

[She gets closer]

"Garlic doesn't hurt me. That being said, the smell however is rather upsetting to me."

[You ask about a steak to the heart?]

"Steak to the heart? Well, who wouldn't that kill?"

[pause]

"Also, No. I don't hate the History teacher because he's a Werewolf. That rivalry between two monsters died with the powdered wigs. I do however find his lectures...So...BORING!"

[She clears her throat again]

"Sorry, Hay fever. Gets really bad this time of year. Oh, also the whole; "I vaunt to suck your blood!" Thing, No vampire has sucked a human's blood in centuries."

[You ask why]

"Would you drink or eat something that you have no idea where they have been?"

[Pause]

"Exactly, Neither would we. And last but certainly not least; NO! I do NOT sleep in a coffin."

[Pause]

"Seriously, what would be the point of it? Just to escape the light? Three words; Black...out...shades."

[Pause]

"Okay, and curtains, but that goes without saying. Now, that I got that all out there, any other questions you might have, please don't hessite to ask."

[You ask if Hollywood got anything right about vampires?]

"*Snicker* Did Hollywood get anything right about vampires?"

[She begins to laugh]

"Sadly, outside of the inviting thing and the hypnosis thing. Not much sadly. It's even worse with that...Ugh, Twilight films. The books were bad enough, and now people go about saying-"

[she gathers her thoughts again]

"Sorry, I just get a little heated when it comes to Stephanie Myers books. I dread the day it will be considered literature. Not if...but when."

[You rub her back gently]

"Thanks, It's just gets me aggravated a little. So about your issues with having test here...let me see if I can talk to someone about that."

[You a little upset]

"Trust me, discretion will be my top priority. I hate to see a student fail, especially if I know I could help."

[You start to cry a little]

"Hey, no need for tears. Sometimes, we just need a little help every now and then. It's nothing to be ashamed of. If anything, it shows how responsible you are. Other students that struggle in my class they think that they can just wing it, but not you."

[She rubs you gently hushing you]

"This tell me that you really care about my class that you don't want to fail. To that I greatly appreciate it."

[You try to pull yourself together as she gently hushes you]

"There, there. Just let it all out."

[You finally pull yourself together]

"Better?"

[You nod]

"Good, now go and Hurry along. I expect big things from you."

[You thank her again]

"Hey, that's why I'm here. If I were to do this for just a paycheck, I wouldn't be a teacher. Let alone one who had more successful careers. Just gather your stuff and I'll see you next time."

[You gather your stuff and walk out of the classroom]

"First time a student ever showed that much guilt that they would ask for that kind of help."

[She gather her stuff and puts them away]

"Maybe there's hope for this generation after all~"

[SFX: Bat transformation and bat noises]

[Fade to black]
