“L-Look, I know, it’s late at night, you’re walking alone, a–and suddenly there’s a voice calling out to you, but please… I need help…”

“I won’t hurt you, I promise… I–I literally couldn’t hurt you even if I tried…”

“Please… help me…”

[pause]

“I–I’m in this alleyway… the one you just walked past. I’m right by the– the entrance so you don’t… have to go into it…”

[quicker footsteps]

“H–here. Look down.”

[pause]

“... Hi.”

[pause]

“Um… yeah… th-that is blood…”

[pause]

“Y–Yes, that is a huge, gaping wound in my chest…”

“But I’m… okay. F–For now, at least… damn this hurts…”

“Hey… I–I don’t know how I’m alive either… then again… I wouldn’t exactly die from bloodloss now…”

“Um… I–I’m a vampire…”

“Wait! Please, please don’t be scared! I promise I won’t attack you!”

“Um… I wasn’t always a vampire, you know! I was… I used to be a human, like you!”

“I never chose to become like this…! I– I was turned… I got attacked by a vampire a few months ago, and when I woke up…”

[he starts crying]

“I just… ugh–! I was just… f–feeding on a rat… and then I g-got ambushed by a hunter…”

“I don’t know… what’s going to happen to me… b-but it hurts so much and… I don’t want to die…”

[he continues to cry]

[he catches you]

“Steady. You almost collapsed right there.”

“... I must have taken way too much… I’m sorry.”

“Hey– a-at least let me carry you home or something…”
