Context: Legend had it that the Moon goddess's most loyal lover was a man that could turn into a wolf. Those are simply legends, however, as no man that could comprehend the Alpha werewolf that has lived for thousands of years, destroyed civilizations, and turned the tides of wars with his mere presence. He is a living legend that almost all fear. But... you know him better than most. He's your mate, after all, and protects you and your children at all costs. At... all costs.

[Scene opens within the water temples]

[SFX: Gentle music, quiet waterfalls, and peace]

[‘Demon’ returns the three of you to the water temple, the last remaining structure of your domain]

[D] “Here… I’ll set you in the grass by the sapphire lilies you planted with the children.”

[SFX: Grass being disturbed]

[...]

[D, gentle] “Shh, it’s alright… I… I-I didn’t mean to frighten you once more…”

[Pause]

[SFX: Werewolf baby yips]

[The moment you’re set down, your children are all over you. Like their father, they are half-wolf and half-human looking]

[D] “Easy, little ones… Your mother is sore. I need to go and throw the Hunter into a cell, for the time being… and I haven’t forgotten the terms of his spell. He dies… you die…”

[Pause…]

[Your mate sighs]

[D] “I will be gentle with him. You’re far too forgiving, you know?”

[Pause]

[He smiles and shakes his head]

[D] “And I’m far too unforgiving, hm? I suppose it is a good thing we balance one another out, then.”

[<3]

[D, gentle] “I love you, too. I will be back shortly.”

[SFX: Him walking off with the Hunter and the pups playing and nursing for a bit]

[Pause]

[SFX: Temple ambiance and ‘Demon’ returning]

[D] “Are you awake, love?”

[Pause]

[D] “Good… The Hunter woke up while I was locking the cell. He had choice words for me, I threatened to break him to the point where he’d wish for death, and we both agreed that you mediating would be the best option. Do you feel able to stand?”

[...]

[D] “No, no, it’s OK. I’ll pick you up… and the pups, apparently. They always miss you, no matter if you are gone a minute or a day.”

[SFX: Excited werewolf puppy yips]

[D] “Hmhm, I know, little ones. I am excited, too, but you need to stay in the gardens outside of the cell. Far enough back that he can’t get to them, but close enough to watch. Here we are, my goddess… Easy.”

[He sets you down first and then gently lets the pups roll off his back and tail onto the ground]

[D] “Go on, little ones. Off my back, down the tail, into the grass… Good job.”

[Pause]

[D] “They are growing fast, I agree.”

[H] “Nemesis over here, any time!”

[Pause]

[Your mate rolls his eyes]

[D] “You are not a nemesis, you are a mosquito, at best. My love is here. Speak.”

[H] “Fine. Why are you fucking doing this? Why all the destruction? Why all of the devastation?! What did we EVER do to you?!”

[...]

[Your Alpha glowers down at him]

[D] “Your world is eating its gods.”

[...]

[The Hunter looks up at him, confused]

[H] “What… do you mean it is eating its gods? What gods do you mean?!”

[...]

[D] “Apollo. Mithra. Tsukuyomi. Odin. Do these names mean anything to you?”

[Pause]

[H] “Some of them… but all of those are just mythical figures, they were never gods, and certainly weren’t real.”

[SFX: The Listener wavering]

[D] “My Moon! Shhh, I have you… I can assure you, Hunter, that they were once quite real. So real that this world did not know who to listen to any longer, and you humans were caught in the middle. During the early years of the Roman empire, a figure stepped forward and beat down the gods. Made them pay for their cruelty to their subjects… It made this planet realize that, perhaps, it didn’t need so many gods about.”

[Pause]

[D] “Please, do not weep, my goddess… It wasn’t your fault. No matter your power, you can’t stand against that… shade.”

[H] “Shade?”

[Your mate holds you, rubbing your back while your pups meander about]

[D] “...We were in the water temples far from this place, within the moon. Without warning, the temples were devoured by some sort of shady mist. The horror of that shade… Anyone it touched, they… They were just gone… I broke my form as Her guardian wolf and spirited her here. No one else… I can barely remember them, but I remember the screams…”

[Pause]

[He lets out a soft whine as you put your hand on his cheek]

[D] “Thank you for your gentle touch, my goddess...Do you understand now, Hunter? Why I must be so protective? If she strays too far from me, I lose my mind. I become that wolf again, vicious and mad. I learned here, on Earth, you have creatures that turn from man to wolf. I was never a man… I am something else, but you all have deemed I am this ‘werewolf’, regardless.”

[Pause]

[The Hunter looks between you two, unreadable before he glares at you both]

[H] “If what you say is true, then your lying with her is beyond forbidden… Much less baring his, what, pups?”

[Pause!]

[D] “... Yes. Were the other gods still alive, or the ones that are still cared, I would be put down for the crime of touching her. Judge me, if you wish. A man can only hold his feelings in for so many centuries before you just… have to say something… I’m sorry I can’t be a better man, my goddess.”

[SFX: Them embracing quietly]

[He rumbles as you weakly climb up his back and put your arms around his neck]

[D] “Mmh… Go ahead, climb my back, and hang on. I’ll get you and the pups to bed here in a moment.”

[He glares at the Hunter in his cell]

[D] “I believe we are just about done here.”

[The Hunter glares back and turns away from all of you]

[...]

[D] “...There is no convincing him, my goddess. He’s got food, water, and a bed. Leave him to calm, for now.”

[His voice changes as he gathers the pups up, much kinder and softer]

[D] “Here are my little ones! One, two, three, four. Mmhm. C’mon, hop up into my arms, it is time for bed.”

[SFX: Grumpy baby werewolf noises]

[D] “I know, I know. Mommy is home though. Don’t you want to cuddle up with the whole pack around?”

[SFX: Happy baby werewolf noises]

[He smiles and nuzzles his face into their itty, bitty ones]

[D] “...I was so scared… They’re only a few months old, and still breastfeeding… I didn’t know what I’d do without you, without your soft laugh, and your hand gently resting on my shoulder, and… I don’t want anything to happen to my family, my goddess…”

[Pause]

[He smiles with a bit of a snort and a shake of his head]

[D] “I know I don’t have to address you as such anymore… but you are my goddess until you have no more use of me. I love you. Loving you, it’s all I know, and I am grateful. I’m just… I wish I wasn’t…”

[You kiss the top of his head and he rumbles again, rustling his fur]

[D] “Mmgh! Sorry, ear twitch. Fine, fine, I know you love me, too. I trust you…”

[...?]

[D] “... I don’t want to talk about the time you ran away from me… but, yes, I still trust you. Now, let’s lie down together. You need to rest, and I need to love you.”

[Pause]

[SFX: ‘Demon’ carrying his family deeper into the temple to rest]

Note: 'Demon' is officially the biggest Speaker in my roster that is not a giant fucking sea serpent :D He is 11' even.
