Synopsis: This is the hundredth all-nighter you've had to pull, but when a vampire shows up at your window, you consider giving up sleep for good.

Important Notes: Feel free to change or make additions to small aspects of this work such as the tags, pronouns, title, etc.! VA goes by VAMPIRE and the listener is LISTENER. LISTENER responses are “...”. I really only put M4A or F4A because I want to have the pronouns of the speaker and listener different so it isn’t confusing. All of my scripts are really intended to be A4A.

The wackest ideas come to me past 2 AM when I’m delirious to the point I laugh at everything. This script is pretty short ( ~800 words).

INT. 3 AM- BEDROOM.

The listener is groggily typing away on their laptop, hunched in their chair in their dimly lit room. Suddenly, their window slides open and a being sits on the sill.

VAMPIRE

Hello, darling. Aren't you up a little late?

​

They haven’t stopped typing.

​

VAMPIRE

Interesting. I thought you'd at least be a little startled. Well, considering how over-it you seem, you probably either don't care or… are too tired to care. Are you not even going to ask why or how I got here?

​

No response.

​

VAMPIRE

Are you ignoring me?! Hey, this isn't a dream, you know. What has gotten into you?

​

[...]

​

VAMPIRE

Woah. Snappy, aren't you? Is staying up this late really worth one assignment?

​

[...]

​

VAMPIRE

Okay, okay. If you say so. But I don't think you understand the situation.

​

He drags their seat from their desk and leans in close.

​

VAMPIRE

Come here. If it takes me to grab your chair and pull you in, then so be it. Since you're the determined studious type I assume you don't recognize me from class. Or know my little secret no less.

(pause)

Hmm. Finally, a reaction. A cute one as well. You've never seen a vampire before, so I understand that seeing my fangs glistening before you would make your widen eyes like that.

VAMPIRE

No, this is reality, my dear. What should I do to convince you that this is real, that a powerful being is before you? How about, I take your hand and graze my teeth over it ever so softly?

(pause)

Oh, I apologize. I underestimated how sharp they are. No need to clean your blood off, I'll happily do it for you.

He softly licks the drops of blood from their wrist.

​

VAMPIRE

Just as I imagined. Extravagant, despite the heavy accents of caffeine. You need to take better care of yourself, dear.

​

The listener stands, breaking away from his grasp, and is on high alert.

​

VAMPIRE

No need to shove me away, darling. I had no intention to harm you. I just wanted you to get to know me a little better. I've been keeping my eye on you for a long while now.

VAMPIRE

I wouldn't call it stalking. More like admiring from afar.

​

[...]

​

VAMPIRE

Curious, aren't you? I love it. Now we can finally be closer to one another. I'm only half vampire. I'm grateful to have not inherited immortality because what am I to do? Stay as a student forever? Well, I could find a way to cure cancer, but I’m not very good at math or science. Anyways. I'd love to spend my time with you for the foreseeable future.

VAMPIRE

Erm. Well, I do rest for fun or when I have time off but I don't necessarily need sleep.

​

[...]

​

VAMPIRE

Huh? Are you saying… you want me to turn you into a vampire? Darling, you don't understand the consequences of such a request. You'd have a sensitivity to the sun, have the unfaltering urge to drink blood, not be able to eat garlic bread, well think of it as a lactose intolerance but towards garlic, and-

VAMPIRE

You must be delusional from the lack of sleep. Or perhaps this is some strange fantasy you have. I mean, it's not unheard of, but I didn't expect you to be into something like this. I'm glad though. This means I have a chance with you and you won't run away.

[...]

​

VAMPIRE

I understand you're stressed, but you must think this through. You're adorable. Coming closer to me like this, but it's not happening. I'm obsessed with you, love, why would I ever curse you with something like this? Also, I’m not even sure if I’m able to…

​

The listener’s legs go weak and he catches them.

​

VAMPIRE

Are you alright? You must be exhausted if you can’t even stand. Here, I've got you. You need rest. Allow me to carry you to bed. There we go, I've got you.

​

He carefully takes them to bed.

​

[...]

​

VAMPIRE

Of course, dear. I can't just leave you like this. I can finally be as protective as I want of you, even if it means for you to take it easy on yourself. Especially considering how desperate you are even to consider becoming a vampire. This isn't right, my dear.

(pause)

There's no need to get emotional. Everyone needs a break every once in a while. I'm grateful to be here in your time of need. Although, I am still wondering how you're so calm about this. I care about you with all of my heart, but being so vulnerable around a stranger is still dangerous.

VAMPIRE

Y-you have? Well, erm- I'm glad to have won your attention. Please forgive me for not approaching you. I've quite literally had to remain in the shadows considering my condition. I should let you rest now. It's best if I go.

[...]

​

VAMPIRE

Really? I don't want to step over too many boundaries. Even if I broke in and drew blood from your hand, I have some decency.

​

[...]

​

He snuggles under the sheets with them.

​

VAMPIRE

If you insist. Just don't freak out when you wake up when morning comes and find a vampire in your bed. There, there. Cling on as long as you'd like. I'll be here for you my dear.
