[you walk down the stairs]

“Oh, hold on a sec, guys. My partner just came downstairs.”

“Hi honey. It’s late, aren’t you tired?”

[pause]

“... Just wanted to hang out with me?”

“Are you sure? I know you have trouble sleeping sometimes, so if you need me by your side, I can get off now.”

[pause]

“Darling, you don’t have to worry about that. I love my friends, but you’re always my first priority.”

“Besides, it is getting late. I really don’t mind.”

[pause]

“You… Like watching me play?”

“Well, in that case…”

[rustling]

“Come on, under the blanket with you. You can lean your head on my shoulder if you want!”

“What game am I playing?”

“Ah, it came out pretty recently. It’s a multiplayer PvP game where we’re split up into a few groups, and then we have to do parkour across the chosen map in order to get to our chosen goal first while keeping the other team from reaching it with traps.”

“The interesting thing is that none of the teams know which goal the opposing team is choosing until the game starts, so multiple teams can choose the same goal. If you get an item that only spawns in a select few locations, you can change your team’s goal, but it’s really risky because you’re completely vulnerable while you choose.”

“... And I’m rambling… aren’t I?”

[pause]

“You don’t mind?”

[pause]

“You… like how passionate I am when I talk about games that I like…?”

“Oh… thank you, darling.”

“No, don’t worry about that. Because we don’t have enough players for a full game, we’re playing solo rounds for fun. I promise you aren’t an interference.”
