Synopsis: You’re exhausted after your concert performance and public breakup announcement and are escorted to your hotel room. Although rumors are flying about, you focus on the ones centered around you and your long-time bodyguard/ close friend.

Important Notes: Feel free to change or make additions to small aspects of this work such as the tags, pronouns, title, etc.! VA goes by BODYGUARD and the listener is LISTENER. LISTENER responses are “...”. I really only put M4A or F4A because I want to have the pronouns of the speaker and listener different so it isn’t confusing. All of my scripts are really intended to be A4A.

EXT. Outside the concert hall.

There are distant sounds of a crowd screaming and camera shutters clicking. Their fans hope to interact with their favorite singer as the bodyguard escorts them to their limousine.

BODYGUARD

(to walkie-talkie)

Alright, we’re heading on over.

(to the crowd)

Come on people, the show’s over! Keep the path clear!

(to the listener)

I have to admit, your fans are a lot more respectful than those of other celebrities. It’s just the paparazzi that’s the problem. Here, I’ll help shield your eyes, those sunglasses aren’t going to be enough. Alright, after you.

The listener enters the limousine and the door is closed.

TIME JUMP

INT. A fancy hotel room.

BODYGUARD

(to his coworkers)

Yeah, I’ve got it from here.

(to the listener)

Well, here we are.

The door closes behind the two and his attitude changes completely as he unstiffens.

BODYGUARD

Phew. Wow, I’m tired after this, I can’t imagine how you must feel. I don’t know how your vocal cords are intact after all of that singing. Your fans really do love you, you know. I bet if I open the window just a little you can still hear them screaming.

To prove his point, he walks over and cracks open the window. Distant cheers can be heard before he closes it.

BODYGUARD

There it is. They’re being dispersed, so don’t worry. Go ahead and take a seat on the bed. I’m gonna just go through the routine, checking the perimeter and such.

He shuts the blinds and goes around the room and checks the drawers, closet, etc.

I thought it was great, you were great. As always of course. No offense, but I had to pay attention to your safety, even if it means missing out on your beautiful voice.

(pause)

Don’t look at me like that. It’s my job, you can’t blame me for that. Besides, if anything happened to you I’d never forgive myself, and it’s not just because I’d be at fault.
