- So Albert was kidnapped and ransomed by Vampa. Vampa says that his reasoning for this was because Albert was flirting with Teresa. Do you believe this? Maybe it's just me, but I'm suspicious of anything that brings the Count closer to Albert and his father. This kidnapping and Dantes ability to swoop in and be the hero is too convenient for me. What do you think?
- Are you as suspicious of Dantes as I am? How feasible is it that he could have come up with this entire thing and have it be so well planned?
- What did you think about the Count's reaction to shaking Albert's hand? He visibly struggled to take the hand of the son of his ex.
Final line:
In the meanwhile Franz was considering the singular shudder that had passed over the Count of Monte Cristo's frame at the moment when he had been, in some sort, forced to give his hand to Albert.
