Only one chapter to go! Congrats to everyone for sticking through this, and thanks for your participation in the discussions.
Discussion starters:
1.) Why do you think the Count forgave Danglars? Did Danglars get off easy, or was this always the plan?
2.) If you were the Count and you were going to forgive either Fernand, Villefort, or Danglars, who would you choose and why?
3.) While this somewhat humorous chapter turned the tables and recast Danglars in Dantès' prison life, it was also reminiscent of the elder Dantès' death. The Count blamed Danglars as the root of all the other problems, including for "prostituting" Mercédès and his father's starvation. Do you agree with his logic?
4). Other points of discussion?
Edit: Does anyone want to make a prediction about if we will get a "good" or "bad" ending? Do we even know what those would look like anymore?
