Discussion starters:
1.) Well, I assumed the Count would have at least wait until the contract was signed to chain Andrea/Benedetto to Danglars. What did you think the note said? Will they catch Benedetto?
2.) This chapter treated Andrea similarly to the Count's own enemies. The Count reacted in almost disgust towards him multiple times. Impossible to ignore, the Count's method of revenge was almost a recreation of his own arrest during his marriage. What do you think of that? Do you think mentions of Caderousse and a wedding arrest will bring any memory to his mind?
3.) It didn't seem to me that the Count had planned on Andrea murdering Caderousse, or Caderousse breaking into his house. What was the plan going to be if he hadn't killed Caderousse? Did he just make this on a whim because the note really was found, or was he saving it?
4). Other points of discussion?
Final Line:
Monte Cristo cast a rapid glance around him. Andrea was gone.
The next discussion will be up this Saturday.
