Discussion starters:
1.) Villefort is afraid that King Louis XVIII finds his father. Is this because there is still some love from Villefort’s side or is he afraid it might risk his ambitions?
2.) After reading that King Louis XVIII has spies, agents etc. to know what is happening in his kingdom, what do you think of Captain Leclère’s decision to give the letter to Edmond without telling him anything about it?
3.) Some of you might already have a general/detailed knowledge of Napoleon’s wars. Does this take away some of the suspense or doesn’t it matter to you at all?
Final Line:
The servant went out with obvious signs of astonishment.
Next discussion will be up this Saturday.
