Should I buy this game today?

Thinking about jumping in as I recently purchased an Xbox One. Been waiting for the PS4 release for absolutely ages and it seems like it's perpetually delayed. I'm a veteran mmo player but fairly new to survival games in general. I think I would absolutely adore Ark but I just wanted to hear from you guys on what the state of the game is currently like?
