I understand the implications of playing an "alpha stage" and realize that crashes, glitches, exploits, etc are going to be part of the experience. We carry extra parachutes to deal with DC, we wear only hide to deal with disappearing bags, we yell "LAG" in the mic before every rubberband, we hack up our dopplegangers from dashboarding. These are things beyond the control of the studio and we accept that.
However, last night's 5 minute warning before shutting servers down was unacceptable. This IS within control of the studio. Failing to communicate to the player-testers has become a common theme of Wildcard. Yes they 'tweet' updates now-and-then but mostly it's promotional information. The company is severely struggling with attempting to do too much at once. The lack of internal testing and the rush to create content is ruining the experience. Too much is going into the shipments and they are coming out a mess every patch.
Our tribe has decided to quit ARK until a final release has smoothed out the latency, the disconnects, the save issues, and the rest of the problems. We've highly enjoyed this game and praise the developers for their vision. However, their execution lacks focus and it's ruining the experience for too many of us.
