I really thought I finally had breeding figured out. I ransacked Fjordur for high level pteras, ended up with a group of breeders with 47 stamina, 44 weight, and 50 melee (50 is the highest stat I've seen on anything wildcaught, so I was thrilled with that one!).

Then I start breeding, and I realize that there's also a HEALTH stat once I start using the incubator, and Awesome Spyglass shows it below the other stats for some reason...

So now I need to go hunt down that stat.

More so though, I'm really, really confused with the mutations.

My current line of 9 females and three males are all either level 243 or 248; the 5 point difference is in speed, and I've just moved on.

I have one PATRILINEAL mutation in melee on every one of the breeders. Zero matrilineal.

But every single egg is coming out with 1 matrilineal mutation, and the 1 patrilineal in melee. The matrilineal evolution doesn't seem to change any of the stats, but just.. exists as 1 mutation on the Matrilineal side.

I have three incubators full of ptera eggs, and all of them show 1 matrilineal, 1 patrilineal.

I've checked and rechecked, and then rechecked again, and every breeder only has one patrilineal mutation in melee.

What the heck am I not understanding?
