Doing my first attempt at capturing a wyvern egg on Fjordur

So I am playing single player on Fjordur and I have kinda reached midgame. I am going to attempt to capture a wyvern egg from the island on the southwest of the map. I made a floating base with 4 top mounted autoturrets and an incubator inside. My plan is to fly in with my level 66 Argentavis and draw the adult wyvern's out to my base and kill them with the autoturrets.
Is this a crazy strategy? Or do u think it might work?
