Hey everyone. I have been suffering from ARFID since 2023 when I was S/A and R by someone who I thought I could trust. I went to several doctors and even had an EGD done 2x and still wasn't successful on able to eating solid foods for no longer than 1 month and it was back to the all liquid diet again. My current gastroenterologist has ruled it is psychological based and wants me to follow up with an SLP to further my treatment as well as a psychiatrist and therapist. I am on Lexapro 5mg currently and it does indeed help me relax a little bit as my mind is always in a frenzy. I was in a very unhealthy marriage at the time and I am thankful we finally separated February 14, 2024 of this year. My new partner is very patient with me and even researched on ARFID to try and help me have healthy food exposures. So far I am on an all liquid diet, BUT I was able to eat a Chicken In A Biscuit Cracker, Oreo Thin, And Pocky Sticks. Idk why, but I have to wait until every grain is dissolved in my mouth before I swallow. Is anyone the same way or have any pointers for my partner to help and/or me to get over this dumb fears I have of choking to death and vomiting? I hate feeling this way and I miss food so MUCH!! :D
