This used rifle includes some nice parts- not gucci but probably a mortgage payment invested in making precision 12g birdshot patterns at 100 yards. I have around $500 in it not including glass.
After unsuccessfully trying the normal fixes and checks for terrible accuracy I took the gun apart and found the barrel was bottomed out on the indexing pin before the shoulder made contact with the upper reciever. The gap was just over .020” so kind of a lot!
I’m gonna deepen the notch in the threads a touch on the mill or with a file so the barrel goes all the way home and fingers crossed we get back under 4moa immediately. Then I’m hoping to get close to 1moa with handloads.
Here’s some specs- comments or criticism is welcome like I said it’s not my build just a problem/puzzle I took on.

Should be (properly) reassembled and back out to the range soon. Wish me luck!
