Are the tome elements balanced?

i saw this game when it came out but i was waiting for a necromancy DLC to come out before i buy (i like dark magic and necromancy sue me ;p ) but ive decided to just go for it and get the game. i remember months ago people were complaining that astral and life magic were way overtuned and that dark and chaos magic were too weak. is that still the case? what tomes are too strong or weak at the moment? are their any relevant community tier lists?
