Overall thoughts:

Hearing and seeing many praises/great comments abt this cycle. i expected i'll love this BUT at the first to middle episodes. I have locked in a 7.1 rating on this. I was kinda bored on the first 4-5 eps of the cycle. But then when the top 7 was finalized and that Hawaii overseas started ramping up i did not expect to love this season!! And yeah, my lovely redditors/besties on this sub.. The praise this cycle is getting is WELL DESERVED! Instantly added on my fav cycles on antm all time! This is what you called a GROWER cycle. Started out meh and as the episodes progresses farther i am starting to love and get attached to it!!

What i LOVED about this cycle:

The contestants

• i liked this set of girls and at the same time felt bored also ( i will also discuss/list this on the downsides later on) What a great set of lovely models. I loved all the girls faces this cycle!! And mostly rocked the photoshoots too!! (You already know who are the strongest ones early on and then when the top 8 unfolded every episode produces outstanding shots!)

The Photoshoots

• i'm also impressed on this one. Less gimicky, more serious and realistic take/tone.. Rare instance that they nailed and executed very well the photoshoots here! Produced probably some of the most memorable shots in ANTM history (personal opinion, but then again it all narrows down on personal preferences)

The Overseas Destination!!!!!!

• i did not expect to love the Hawaii destination but i'm shocked! This is probably one of the most memorable overseas destination also!! It looks like the budget all went down/given here! HAHAHHAA. It actually looks like the girls enjoyed their stay here!

The unusual every week there is a different supermodel/important person on the judging panel

• i also did not expected to love this. But ending up loving this take! The fact that they had invited Marissa Miller & Kim Kardashian on the judging panel is huge! Love that i saw and hear different opinions/critiques about the girls & photoshoots.

The final runway

• love the concept of the final runway on this cycle. It screams ELEGANCE!!

Tyra's critique 🤍

• this is the one of my most fav Tyra's critique has given on the girls. It really helped the girls and i love that she made this take on a cycle. Wishing there was another petite cycle tho :( i love the opportunity she has given to these girls and the advices and helpful techniques that she has given to break the cruel world of modelling industry...

Downside:

BUDGET‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

• The most factor i disliked on this cycle. It is super noticeable!!! The way they cutted the budget on the photoshoots ( i sincerely think that if they have faith in this cycle and given out more money on photoshoots, this cycle will surely be on the top 3 most perfect photoshoot concepts run all time on antm) , also the HOUSE looks cheap! Yikes it looks like they just put some development pictures on the walls and call it a day 🤭😆 & the noticeable change of the modelling agency. Elite is bigger than Wilhemina model management right?? (But i think it all boils down the fact the produces here doesn't trust Tyra's take to give petite models a chance)

The contestants

• my selfish self kinda misses the heavy dramas on this cycle 🤭🤣 the girls here are so kind and bonded well and it felt like some of these girls are so close to boring personalities lol (with the exception of Sundai, Jen, Erin & Laura) and sorry to say this, i know the decision of Amber's parents to withdraw her from the competition is a 100% RIGHT decision. But i kinda wished that i get to see her on the house i'm sure she'll cause chaos, drama, villain worthy moments also COMEDY/FUN & i seriously think that she will go far on the competition.. I wonder what she's doing rn...

Ok, we'll talk about the top 7 girls now, and my fav contestants on this cycle: ( i have some conflicting opinions/ranking on the girls this cycle early on but then yeah i realized they earned their spot..)

NICOLE FOX

Ups

• the most modelesque girl in this cycle and i instantly saw a potential on her on the first ep.. she devoured the girls on the overseas episodes. (Erin is clearly the most strongest model here but faltered and flopped hard on overseas & Jen possibly the next big competitor) never landed on the bottom 2, strong placement start to finish, somehow relatable and i was reminded of her on Shandi (cycle 2) Shandi is somehow memorable BUT made a huge mistake/scandal on reality tv and i'll say Nicole has higher highs than Shandi

Downs

• BORING, i liked her but she's not my fav this cycle.. And also not a great runway model, FLOPPED at the speech challenges. Don't let Nicole speak lol or dance HAHHAHAHAHA

Personal thoughts on her:

I think she rightfully earned her Cycle 13 winner spot. But i kinda wished Laura, Brittany or Erin won this cycle :))

LAURA KIRKPATRICK

Ups

• one of the most GENUINELY lovely, kindest, likeable model to grace ANTM. My most fav girl in this cycle and i'm sure she's also on my top 10 most loved ANTM contestants ever! I will mostly remember her for being brave and always volunteers on the photoshoots, a risk taker like Jen & a happy go lucky 😅

Downs

• Not the greatest model on this cycle, and she produced one of my most wtf is that pic (moment) in antm history. That Pele shot her face is so weird.

Personal thoughts on her:

On the first eps- first half of the Hawaii destination i placed her/thought that she will be a worthy 4th placer. But her genuine kindness and drive convinced me that she deserve her runner up placement 🙌

JENNIFER AN

Ups

• Very likeable and relatable, a model who is not afraid to take commands on her photoshoots, take risks. Very creative on her photos and a fast learner/good listener. Also one of the strongest models this cycle.

Downs

• not the prettiest on the bunch, also has weird angles and definitely not a BEAUTY shot model. Her last photo is definitely a elimination worthy...

Personal thoughts on her:

Honestly i thought she will be one of the first to get eliminated! And i was so surprised for real!! She DESERVES her top 3/4 spot!!! She worked so hard. And i love how she hates Nicole (in terms of being a competitor HAHAHHAHA) She is also funny. I'll place her at 3rd. She definitely earned that spot.

ERIN WAGNER

Ups

• the STRONGEST model early- middle parts of c13. Produced some of the greatest shots in antm history, very competitive and look modelesque also and she is definitely gains the upperhand in terms of being gorgeous!

Downs

• Comes off very whiny, b*tchy, childish and ungrateful most of the time. And she cracks under pressure. A cry baby. She failed big time on the personality department & STRUGGLED so hard in the overseas (but i'll take her bad photos any day in any of the bad photos of the girls these cycle and probably on any cycle)

Personal thoughts on her

• No doubt the strongest model this cycle (if she didnt stumbled on the overseas i think she'd win this cycle) Tyra and the judges seems to favor her and has this immunity vibe... But i hope she grow for the better post antm cycle attitude wise.

SUNDAI LOVE

Ups

• the comedianne of this cycle. Love her scenes on this cycle. Very likeable also and love her positivity/growth on later episodes.

Downs

• Not the greatest model tho. Her portfolio is so weak in terms of top five placement. She is the most noticeable petite model this cycle..

Personal thoughts on her

• as much as i love you honey, i think you OVERSTAYED your welcome. A top 8/9 placement is her rightful spot. But one of the most emotional/tearjerker elims on antm. She clearly loves this but again i'm not amazed on her photos..

BRITTANY MARKERT

Ups

• love her face. She definitely deserves to model for sexy mags she has that sex appeal and sexy vibes to her. She also has a chance at high fashion. Took some good photos too! A very classy and intelligent lady.

Downs

• She's so intelligent that she ended up being BORING. She's a great model but also very inconsistent. For sure she had her highs but she had her lowest lows also.

Personal thoughts on her

Personally i love to see her on the final 2 with Erin kinda?? I loved her face. And also i get emotional when she is eliminated. She should have been a top 4 placer somehow? But she's inconsistent so i'm struggling to place her between 2-5th spot. But definitely did not deserve her sixth place run

RAE WEISZ

Ups

• she produced also one of the most beautiful shots in antm history. Only took 1-2 bad photos. Likeable enough and you will also root for her somehow

Downs

• also boring lol. Not much to say about her but i rooted also for her on earlier episodes but yeah i kinda had that thought that she will be cutted before overseas

Personal thoughts on her

Did i think that she will be eliminated and take that 7th spot? Yes. But does she deserve that placement? NO. i think she could have nailed it overseas also if she had given the chance.

Hi guys! Finally i'm finished narrowing down my thoughts abt this cycle hahaha. Sorry if it's too long. But i definitely ENJOYED this one. Lacking some drama and some moments but NAILED it big time in terms of contestants modelling ability and excelled in the photoshoot concepts while having that small budget.

If i have to rank this along the first 12 cycles.. i think it will be a top 4 or 5. I'm still not sure. But i loved this one. So excited for cycle 14!! But i will not get my hopes up coz i don't want to be disappointed 🤟
