had a crush on each other?! In no way did I get that vibe from them in Ats and I'm glad they never brought it up (I think Cordy once mentioned it very quickly in ats?)
Also, seeing how dorky Wes was is wild compared to whom he becomes later. Same with seeing how self-obsessed Cordy was and whom she becomes later. These two probably are tied for best character development in the buffyverse.
And the thing that people ignore?
Wes is in his 30s, Cordelia is about 17.
lol. If this was Xander, the aforementioned would be brought up on a daily basis as another reason to bash him.
It's Wes, so it's largely ignored.
Personally, I thought they were a cute couple. Just a wee bit sloppy. :p
The intent of the love spell was to reject Cordelia's advances.
Do you remember when the love spell went wrong and Buffy threw herself at Xander? He said no as he couldn't take advantage of her.
I agree, all of the characters do questionable things, such as Buffy taking sexual advantage of Spike when she's invisible.
That's why the characters are so great and the show so timeless. They are not perfect. If they were perfect, what a dull show it would be.
Was it good judgement call? No. But everyone makes mistakes, and we should all forgive and show compassion.
No one's perfect.
Besides, didn't Buffy try to kill Anya? Drove a sword through her chest, as I recall. Even though Xander begged her not to.
Also, he did save the lives of Willow, Giles and Buffy in season one. I think he deserves more credit than he receives from fans of the show.
People talk about forgiveness, about being Christian and having good Christian morals and values and being willing to forgive, etc.
All these brainless clones spreading the word of #BeKind, etc.
And yet they fail to forgive or find it in their heart to be kind to fictional character.
lolz
True.
It's one of favourite episodes, too. And one of my favourite lines.
"For God's sake, man, she's 18. And you have the emotional maturity of a blueberry scone. Just have at it, would you? And stop fluttering about."
Hey, I'm more than happy for an extra to burn to a crisp when, in turn, we get probably the best episode of BtVs. :p
Oh. I have no issue with them getting it on.
If it was Xander, however, he would be accused of grooming.
Yeah. Buffy remembered it after 5 years. Which included being dead, losing her Mum, working in a fast food place, etc.
No one mentions it, but Slayer memory must be awesome! ;)
Which are?
He didn't rape or kill anyone. Which is more than can be said about his friends .
His only "crime" is sarcasm.
It wouldn't, as it's a reach, even for the delusional mob of the Xander Haters.
I had a debate with someone who said that Xander cheated on Kai Cole (Joss's ex wife).
So reason or sanity doesn't have a place with some people.
It wasn't a fantasy. It was a dream. Human beings can't control dreams. But sure, add that to the made-up misdemeanours of Xander Harris.
