Is it important to you that you are able to pronounce your partner's name?
Post Body

Disclaimer: I have not been and currently am not in an AMWF relationship. This stems purely out of curiosity from having lived in Europe for some years and interacting with people there.

Hi all, is it important to you that you are able to pronounce your partner's name? Do you know your partner's name in their native language?

I have a number of friends in the past that went to University in the Anglosphere and most of them gave themselves an English/European name so that it was convenient for their English speaking friends. Personally, I have an English first name given to me by my parents, but a question that I always used to get was "No, but what is your real name?". Also, my surname has no vowels and an apostrophe which used to make Airport Customs interactions rather amusing.
