Leave bank for fintech?
Post Body

Hi all Iā€™m at a large bank in NYC metro area doing transaction monitoring. I currently am at $90K base salary, hybrid schedule 3x in office. My commute is 1-1.5 hrs one way to the office. With OT and bonus, my total comp is around $110K give or take.

Recruiter at a fintech startup recently reached out to me for a market conduct surveillance role and the first call went really well and she wants to move me forward and meet the rest of the team. Salary range is 100K-160K and fully remote.

Should I consider the move? Iā€™m nervous about being at a startup and job security, lay offs, company going under etc. but Iā€™d love to be fully remote. The role is not only doing surveillance but wearing multiple AML compliance related hats. Should I entertain the position? Any thoughts are appreciated.
