Hello! I don't usually post because I always get a little amount of replies but this time it's about my first build and I'm a little frustrated. It's been about 3 days since I put the parts together and so far I've encountered two problems:
1) When I opened Rust I saw white light flashing on the display while in the menu which was not too easy to notice but also not too hard. So I tried some other games but they were working properly. I thought maybe it was just Rust but still wanted to make sure. So I tried triggering it and finally found a trigger. If I turn the metrics overlay on from the radeon software while in a game, the white flashing occurs. And this happens in all games. But rust triggered the problem even if the metrics overlay was disabled. I tried solving it by trying every possible port/cable combination on the monitor at first. Changing the display settings (like changing it to fullscreen etc.) solved the problem in some games but this wasn't a solid solution. My monitor and gpu drivers were up to date and the monitor was already set to 144hz. I asked a friend who also has the same gpu if he had any advice and he said that he also has a flashing kinda problem and suggested me to disable freesync. Disabling the freesync option of the monitor solved the whole problem but now I sacrificed a nice feature. This is what the problem looks like: https://www.dropbox.com/s/a6oenhockz4dswr/VID_20201022_043127.mp4?dl=0
(The flashing problem also affected the performance of the gpu in a game called "Oxygen Not Included)
2) I experienced this problem in the first game I've every played on this pc. I was playing league of legends and felt like the game was (rarely and with high graphics settings) stuttering and it seemed like my character was sometimes teleporting. So I decided to try another game which was csgo and again I felt some stuttering but very rarely. I tried to check the fps values when the stuttering was happening and I felt like the stuttering only happened when the fps values hit too high (at least more than 240fps in csgo) for a short moment. But it was harder to observe so I tried to trigger this problem too. I opened up the practice tool in league of legends and disabled minions (I didn't even lower graphics settings because disabling minions was enough to hit very high fps values) and the same stuttering/screen tearing/teleporting or whatever it's called happened but this time very often with very high fps. Limiting the fps or enabling vsync helps and some people told me this is normal but when my friends try this, they don't experience such things and it doesn't feel normal at all. Here I recorded the problem: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kxb5a261afqv7pf/2020.10.23-00.53.mp4?dl=0
I know I can live with limited fps and without freesync but it's been only a few days since I built this pc and all I've been doing was trying to figure out a solution and why these were happening. And even though these problems are minor compared to the problems that some people deal with, I'm scared of encountering other problems in the future and it's truly frustrating since this is my first build. Now I'm trying to decide if I should return my graphics card while I still can or disable freesync and limit fps & just keep playing. The gpu performs well in general. I'm open for any advice and sorry if I misused some terms, I'm new to this..
