Description of Original Problem: So I have put a Kraken G12 and AIO on my Saphire Reference 5700 XT and it's working fine but I want to control fan speed on my radiator using the onboard 4-pin PWM connector. I have an adapter to convert the mini 4-pin to a regular 4-pin PWM connector.

The fans are spinning and also adjust RPM depending on GPU temp. But the RPM in Wattmann just reads 65535 and HWInfo doesnt even list a GPU fan. I connected the original blower fan and it shows the same behaviour so it's not the 4-pin adapter or the fans.

Troubleshooting:

  • tried DDUing and installing an older driver (20.1.1) with no improvements.
  • I have not modified the BIOS

Is there anything left for me to do or do I have a faulty fan connector?

If it's the fan connector I guess there's a loose connection with the RPM readout wire. What steps can I take to find it?
