Main monitor keeps blinking black

I have a sapphire nitro 7900 xtx its on the latest drivers i use display port for my main monitor which is a gigabyte aorus fv43u 43'' the second monitor is a sceptre q24 and runs on HDMI. for some reason I'm having issues with the main monitor blinking black at random times and its getting more frequent the second monitor has no issue i cant play a game or even watch anything with out it happening its getting frustrating. I've gotten rid of the old drivers reinstalled them I've changed the display port cable even bought a 'higher quality' one still the same I'm at a loss any help would be appreciated
