Prevent silicone sleeves from breaking.

Hey guys so I have the leluv slider and the threads touch the silicone and causes it to tear super early in it’s life.
What do you guys do to prevent this?
I was thinking maybe going to Home Depot and getting something to cover the threads.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
