WIBTA if I asked my husband to consider getting a girlfriend because he’s too needy and I need some space?

I’m 40f and my husband is 52m. We have been married for 20 years and I’ve been with him since I was 17. We have 4 children. We have good sex. But he wants to be near me all hours of the day. If he’s home he is right next to me. He follow me to the bathroom if I let him. I’d honestly just live it if he would get a girlfriend and let me breathe a little. Do you think I it would hurt him if I told him how I feel?
