I [19TF] have been living with my dad since I was 11 or 12 years old. Just today, I forgot why, but I mentioned that I had carved the letters P4L (Pouges for Life) into my bedframe. My father flipped and yelled at me about how that was his property. This was news to me, as I had assumed that I was going to be allowed to take the bed frame and mattress along with me once I finally move out. Needless to say, he now wants me to pay for a replacement.
A little more context
I have always struggled with self-harm and suicidal ideation. So when I am irritated or mad, I cut at my thighs, feet, and wrists. The "P4L" was me mapping out what I wanted the cut on my forearm to look like, and since at the time I was of the knowledge that the bedframe was mine, I chose to cut it into there. I thought it was also a cool design as opposed to just the straight lines I usually do. Now I am being told that I owe my father a new mattress (bloodstains) and frame, all together coming to roughly about $200 CAD tax for the mattress and $250 CAD tax for the frame. So tell me, AITAH for refusing to replace a bed frame and mattress?
Please be honest with me, as I need to know if I'm in the wrong here.
