I have been with my husband for 6 years and last year our dog came onto health problems which cost us roughly $34k to recover… since then, my husband has never over babied the dog he is an 85lb very long and tall German shepherd… he’s taken full advantage as far as just going to the bathroom as he pleases in the house etc … it’s not the medical issue he just doesn’t feel like going outside as the med issue has been resolved and he doesn’t have issues unless at home … he literally will go outside and then walk inside, look at us in the eye and has done this in our bed as well… fortunately we have purchased waterproof liners for our bed bed which we double up but this it just ridiculous I am literally sleeping in the spare bedroom because I don’t want to be peed on and yes he wears a diaper but rips it off
NTA for wanting to move the dog out of your bed, especially since it’s causing practical issues like peeing indoors and disrupting your sleep. It sounds like your dog is taking advantage of the situation, and you’ve tried to manage it, but your comfort and hygiene are important too. You’re not asking for anything unreasonable—just some basic boundaries. It’s understandable that your husband might be attached to the dog, but you both need to find a solution that respects everyone’s needs, including yours.
