My best friend (27F) and I (32F) have been online besties since I was 16. Being that I’m ♿️, it’s been difficult for me to travel to visit her but she had just gotten engaged and I knew nothing was going to stop me. I was going. But when we were discussing when I was going to be flying in, she made the comment: “If you’re not bringing someone, I’d rather you not come. I don’t want to have to chaperone you.” which completely blind sighted me. I’m single, with no irl friends, at least not any close enough to want to travel with me, so I wouldn’t have a plus one. And she knew that. So I decided I wasn’t going because I didn’t want to go against her wishes. When I had told her I’d be unfollowing(not unfriending) from her posts to avoid wedding posts for my own mental health, she freaked out on me asking why I was telling her this the night of her bachelorette party. I didn’t know when her bachelorette party was and she knew I didn’t know. Then her sister IMs me chewing me out about hurting her. I tried to explain that I was also hurt. So AITA for deciding not to go to my best friend’s wedding because she doesn’t want me traveling alone?
