So myself and friends went to see a comedian, I really wanted to see the comic so I bought floor seats for the show. Nothing crazy, it was at a minor league arena, close to the edge of where the stands began. Only $95 per.
The next night, our group goes out for dinner/drinks with our friend’s local friends. I didn’t hear my friend explain where our seats were for the show. So their friend said they were also at the show. After asking how they liked the show, and running out of topics to keep the convo going, my first thought was “oh cool, where were your seats?”
To which someone (drunkenly) butts into the conversation to say “ummm that’s rude to ask, since you guys had floor seats”.
To which I respond “oh… sorry”. I didn’t think it was rude to ask, but judging by the look on the person’s face it was a weird situation.
So: am I in the wrong to ask that?
