I was spending the week at my brothers house as he as two kids and I love spending time with them. I usually take them on walks, to the park, bike riding ,and anything that keeps them out of trouble specifically my nephew . My nephew is 14 and my niece is 10. On this particular day it was really hot so I decided we would spend the day at home in the pool. I had organized some ball games a small bbq etc. My brothers neighbour is having the roof done and it appears my nephew and his friend climbed up the scalfholding and were looking at his wife. Allegedly she was not dressed as its been so hot and she was sleeping with her clothes off.

Suddenly I hear the door bell ring and the neighbour looking really agree on the security camera, So I opened the door and asked how I could help. He angrily told me the boys were spying on his wife and taking pics of her whilst she was resting.

(This is where I may have been the asshole)

I defended them and said I can’t believe this and promised to look at their phones straight away. He said if they had been taking pics he said he would report them to the police. So I asked him to wait called both boys over and asked them is this true? They obviously denied so I asked the neighbour to wait whilst I go inside and check their phones as they were in bar area. On going through their phones I could see the pics etc, so I quickley deleted them bought their phones over and asked the neighbour to go through them. Obviously he did not find anything and he said to me if I see them climbing on the scaffolding again he would deal with them himself. I said fair enough cant be any more fairer than that. Once the neighbour had gone I got both the boys inside had a little laugh and told them If I caught them again I would hand them in to the neighbour myself.

AITH for defending these boys?
