For context: I'm a tall girl. Unless I'm wearing bermudas, everything looks short on me, even fingertip length.
I was walking into the grocery store in a particularly good mood, on a particularly hot summer day recently. A woman stops me to tell me she thinks my shorts are too short and it's in appropriate in public. That "there are men in there. Some are married" and that I should be more "respectful to their wives." She even said I was lucky her husband was at home?! 😹 Well without missing a beat I explained "Ma'am I'm tall, you're short. From your perspective- everything looks short on me. From my perspective, I can clearly see straight down your shirt, and you're not wearing a bra"
She proceeded to try to apologize and stumble over her words as I smiled and continued on. I probably could have worded my response a bit kinder- but tbh I was holding back.
