To clarify I am F18. My younger sister is 16. We align with my younger 9 year old sister share a room. That comes with sometimes changing infront of one another occasionally. Now, my 16 year old sister almost never lets me in the room when she’s trying to change. When it’s with my 9 year old sister apparently that’s usually fine (though she’ll kick her out sometimes also). I find it absolutely annoying being kicked out of my own room (that is to say a room I have no choice but to share with her. And I fully respect and recognize we share a room). I try proposing other ways around this, like how she can just go to the bathroom and change there instead if it’s such an problem. At this point I’m convinced it just depends on her mood. In general she acts nasty or rude to me. She almost gets easily defensive and never listens if someone tells her she’s doing something wrong. Like this is her problem to deal with and she’s trying to make it mine also. My parents say it’s better to just wait, but even that can be annoying because she won’t open the door or give any signal she’s done. I kinda just have to wait a while and assume she’s finished, also she almost always takes forever (ten minutes which is just the minimum on a good day). I’m honestly convinced she’s doing it to spite me. Today I tried getting in and she shut the door in my face without saying anything, then after she said very rudely how she was trying to get changed, as if I was supposed to just know that already (I really didn’t). And the worst part is that she doesn’t communicate with me. I have a feeling it’s underlying hatred or maybe the usual sibling jealousy, that causes her to act that way towards me. Idk it just sucks not being allowed into my own room and being treated like dirt by her.
