Okay so I collect a type of toy, the third party market often charges 2 or 3 times the price for these items. I have had to pay those prices before just to keep my collection complete.

Now what I will call the Holy grail for this toy drops Friday. While ago I went to preorder it and a few of my friends collect this toy as well one lady for her child. I have pre-ordered before for other people. She asked if I would preorder it for her and she'd pay me back. I agreed. I went and found a friend of mine who collects select ones of this toy and said hey im going to preorder for myself and X do you want me to preorder for you as well? They agreed.

Now I'm a flexible person whenever I buy stuff for other people if they ask me to buy it (because I go to places where its easier to find niche items you won't find at local big box stores) I always tell them they can pay in installments, I only charge them whatever I end up paying for the items. Since usually I'm already there for myself anyways and hold onto it like layaway.

Now onto the man in question last time I pre-ordered something for him he asked me and I was like okay. I pre-ordered a set for him and a set for myself. I texted him the ticket and showed him the price and how much it would cost him for his set. He agreed to that and said since it was almost $40 he'd pay me in two installments which I have no issues with. Now at the time we had 2 or 4 pay periods (same job) between then and when the product dropped. He didn't pay me once and didn't really talk to me much. Well day comes I pick up the products and text him and get nothing. I hold onto the products until I see him next and proceeded to tell him. I have your stuff but you're not getting it until I'm paid.

Magically few hours later he hands me my money and I give him his stuff. So the current issue is I pre-ordered 3 of the new item. I paid for all of them and the lady already paid me for hers. He has not paid me a dime for the new item despite agreeing to. Also beyond two less than 5 minute conversations in person we haven't spoken in over a month and a half. I've texted him maybe 5 or 6 times and he's not replied its mostly not important stuff just shooting the breeze chat. He talks to other people just fine and the one important chat I tried having with him he never responded but told his brother who later discussed the issue with me and was like ohh yeah he told me about it.

I have to pick up the item/s tomorrow and won't see him until Sunday. Do I keep his item until he pays me since I agreed to do this for him or since he's been treating me crappy and ignoring me do I keep it to do with as I please (which means selling it at cost to someone else who has already expressed massive interest) the problem is these items are very popular and usually only get 1 print run of the item especially collaboration items which this one is.
