Me and my best friend did everything together as we grew up, that was until we hit 11 years old. That's when they started to get bullied because the rumour started that they were gay. I did my best to help, and I thought I'd turned it around as the bullying seemed to stop. I was wrong. They just changed targets from him, to me. Now after all I did to help, I expected the same in return. But I never got it. He walked away when it started, and eventually joined them in the bullying. I was weird, strange and above all gay. I fully admit the weird part, but one thing I wasn't was gay.
So school ended, and we all went our separate ways, and I never saw any of them until a year ago or so. And there was my old best friend, in a shop queue that I was also in.
He tried to talk to me... and I must admit I wasn't at my best that day. I quite literally told him where to go, and that I wasn't interested in any apology. To say he was shocked was an understatement.
Today he contacted me again, this time on Facebook messenger, the same apology, but this time with extra bits he'd picked up off my Facebook profile... how he'd like to meet my fiance and daughter and so on. I told him to f*** off. I had no interest in any apology, and I had no interest in meeting him so we could chat. Then I blocked him. So, I know in being childish, and I should forgive him, but I can't. I had 5 years of hell in school, in part because of him, I think I have every right to still not want anything to do with him. Don't I?
