Me (50m) and my fiance (45f) have been together for almost 12 years, and even have a daughter (8). Everything was fine until I found out a few things about her past.... nothing bad, but it has left me feeling a bit... inadequate.

She left her ex for reasons that I know were 'bad' (what bad is I don't really know, or want to know really) but while searching her Facebook (just what was visible on her page) she has deleted practically everything about her time with him... but not completely everything.

What was there has left me feeling bad. She went to LA with him, Paris, he bought her expensive jewelery (which she sold) and so on... all things, on my wages and hers combined isn't enough. I mean I'm still driving the same car we had when we met....

We have talked about this and she has made it clear that she doesn't need all that, she has all she needs in me and our daughter, but I still feel bad I can't give her those things.
