So to start this out I feel really shitty and just need to know if I need to apologize directly to this person.
I (25 F) was at my friends daughters birthday. I was there with my 3yr old daughter. My friend’s younger brother (Male 21) was there and he was trying to put the birthday girl (his niece) face in the cake. We all were telling him no and he thought it was funny and put some of her face in it anyways. Whatever.
Afterwards, my daughter was in line waiting for cake patiently and excited. The cake had flowers and the brother went up to my daughter(who he doesn’t know, it’s the first time he meets us) and he told my daughter to “smell the flowers”. I look over and he slammed my daughters face into the cake and she is crying with cake in her nose. She is saying her nose hurts and he is just laughing the whole time and did not apologize. My daughter is upset and inconsolable she just keeps saying “he’s laughing at me”.
I felt so angry I was shaking. When I got my plate and piece of cake I took it to him and slammed my whole piece of cake all over his face. He was standing next to his gf. I over did, I know. I let my anger take over me. My friend is not mad she said he deserves it but I feel like she just wants to be nice. I feel like I looked crazy infront of everyone and I was impulsive. I apologized over and over to my friend she insists it’s funny and that he learned his lesson. I have never done anything physical to someone so impulsively. He looked mad he had to go to the bathroom to get it all off and his gf looked mad helping him clean his face.
What would you have done?
