My roommate and I got a cat for our apt. Got the cat for free off my farmer friend and I told my roommate at the start that when we moved out together he could keep the cat (specifically so that this fight wouldn’t happen). Our plan was to graduate and move out in two years.
Fast forward a year and he found a gf and wants to move out with her (a year earlier than we had planned). He wants to take the cat with him.
I proposed the following: I get to keep the cat for one more year (like I thought would happen from the start) and then I’d let my roommate come and take her permanently after that. I feel like this is overly fair seeing as we’ve split all the costs 50/50 and the fact that his gf ALREADY HAS 3 OTHER CATS. Basically he’d take our cat to an apt with three others and leave me alone and I’d rly never see my cat again.
He’s not budging and I’m not budging and I wanna know if I should go all in and call out his asshole behaviour.
